This Ramadan, Bosnian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had the honor of hosting a special Iftar for the diplomatic corps, uniting heads of diplomatic missions, international organizations, dear and esteemed friends at the historic Bosniak Institute in Sarajevo. A night of unity, dialogue, and mutual respect—reinforcing our shared commitment to cooperation, understanding, and stronger global ties.

One common sentiment that I've come across while living my short life in Bosnia is that, during the aggression against us and even to this day, we have only ourselves to rely on—that we can count only on ourselves for protection and that our existence depends solely on our own strength. While this is true to some extent, given that Bosnia was besieged from all sides and that Bosniaks persevered through these trials with armed resistance, it is not the whole truth.

When Bosniaks emerged on the world stage after a hundred years of oppression, they did so at a unipolar moment—when the United States was the sole great power on Earth. That same undisputed policeman of the world placed its knee on our collective neck through UN embargoes while we were at war, hoping we would simply run out of air and die if the pressure was maintained long enough. That knee was lifted through the pressure and lobbying of Muslim powers worldwide, who went out of their way to help a people they knew little about.

One common sentiment that I've come across while living my short life in Bosnia is that, during the aggression against us and even to this day, we have only ourselves to rely on—that we can count only on ourselves for protection and that our existence depends…
The United States, at the peak of its strength, was ultimately pushed to lift the weapons embargo and intervene to end the war in Bosnia—not out of some moral obligation, but because it was driven into a corner and had no other choice.

That same situation is unfolding in Palestine, in Gaza, once again—only people cannot see through the mist of propaganda, personal biases, and ideological narratives. Now, why do I say all of this?

Because it has become clear to me that the concept of the nation-state is outdated. The power of a people does not lie in their ability to maintain or expand the borders of their country, but in their ability to transcend them and exert influence. Just like human beings, countries do not stand alone in this world; they rely on one another, they need one another—because alone, they are weak and can be picked off easily, but together, they are strong.

Gaza is not under siege. The so-called nation of Israel—which, in reality, is just an American apartheid colony—is the one being put under siege by the collective Muslim powers of the world. People simply do not see the noose tightening around the neck of the Netanyahu administration because their attention spans are weak, and they fail to view the world objectively. The Palestinian people exist and will continue to exist upon their own land. They will return to the land from which they were driven, Alhamdulillah for that.
The state of Palestine is not alone—it is part of a collective of states whose influence will sustain and rebuild it. Just as human beings form alliances, relationships, and bonds, so do nations. And Israel possesses none of these things. The apartheid colony is nothing more than a Western Frankenstein—alone, isolated, and despised wherever its settlers go. Such a so-called country has no future. It will soon be placed on the operating table and put under the control of other global powers. That is the inevitable outcome. It is set in stone.

The coat of arms of Hrvoje Vukčić Hrvatinić, as seen in Hrvoje’s Missal (c. 1407), represents one of the most powerful noblemen in medieval Bosnia. Serving under three kings, Hrvoje skillfully navigated between the Kingdom of Hungary and the rising Ottoman Empire.

A dramatic episode from his time is depicted in The Campaign of Hungarians Against Bosnia from the Chronicum Hungarorum (1488). The illustration portrays events from 1415 when Hungarian forces, led by Emperor Sigismund, launched an attack on Bosnia. Duke Hrvoje, with Ottoman support, decisively defeated the Hungarians at Lašva. In the aftermath, Hungarian-Croatian nobleman Pavao Čupor was captured, sewn alive into a buffalo hide, and cast into the Bosna River—a grim reminder of the brutal nature of medieval warfare.

🇧🇦🇹🇷 President Erdoğan Speaks with Bakir Izetbegović on Bosnia and Herzegovina

President Erdogan held a phone call with Bakir Izetbegović, Chairman of the Party of Democratic Action of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They discussed the latest situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and regional developments.

President Erdoğan emphasized that Türkiye is closely monitoring the situation and called for an immediate end to rising tensions within Bosnia and Herzegovina’s constitutional order and rule of law.

He reaffirmed Türkiye’s strong support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and constitutional framework, noting that necessary warnings were given to President Milorad Dodik of Republika Srpska.

Stressing that the current issues are not rooted in conflicts between the country’s founding peoples, President Erdoğan urged pro-territorial integrity political parties to unite on common ground and called on the international community to take a firm stand against separatism.

🇧🇦🇵🇸🇮🇱 Bosnia and Herzegovina has joined a global legal effort to hold accountable individuals suspected of war crimes in Gaza. The International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) has announced the formation of Global 195, a worldwide legal coalition committed to pursuing legal action against “Israeli” and dual-national individuals involved in war crimes and crimes against humanity.
This unprecedented initiative spans multiple countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Malaysia, Türkiye, Norway, Canada, and the United Kingdom. It aims to activate domestic and international legal mechanisms to apply for private arrest warrants and initiate legal proceedings wherever suspects may be found.

The scope of Global 195 includes individuals who have fought in the "Israel" Defense Forces (IDF), as well as military and political leaders responsible for violations of international law.
