The coat of arms of Hrvoje Vukčić Hrvatinić, as seen in Hrvoje’s Missal (c. 1407), represents one of the most powerful noblemen in medieval Bosnia. Serving under three kings, Hrvoje skillfully navigated between the Kingdom of Hungary and the rising Ottoman Empire.

A dramatic episode from his time is depicted in The Campaign of Hungarians Against Bosnia from the Chronicum Hungarorum (1488). The illustration portrays events from 1415 when Hungarian forces, led by Emperor Sigismund, launched an attack on Bosnia. Duke Hrvoje, with Ottoman support, decisively defeated the Hungarians at Lašva. In the aftermath, Hungarian-Croatian nobleman Pavao Čupor was captured, sewn alive into a buffalo hide, and cast into the Bosna River—a grim reminder of the brutal nature of medieval warfare.

🇧🇦🇹🇷 President Erdoğan Speaks with Bakir Izetbegović on Bosnia and Herzegovina

President Erdogan held a phone call with Bakir Izetbegović, Chairman of the Party of Democratic Action of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They discussed the latest situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and regional developments.

President Erdoğan emphasized that Türkiye is closely monitoring the situation and called for an immediate end to rising tensions within Bosnia and Herzegovina’s constitutional order and rule of law.

He reaffirmed Türkiye’s strong support for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and constitutional framework, noting that necessary warnings were given to President Milorad Dodik of Republika Srpska.

Stressing that the current issues are not rooted in conflicts between the country’s founding peoples, President Erdoğan urged pro-territorial integrity political parties to unite on common ground and called on the international community to take a firm stand against separatism.

🇧🇦🇵🇸🇮🇱 Bosnia and Herzegovina has joined a global legal effort to hold accountable individuals suspected of war crimes in Gaza. The International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) has announced the formation of Global 195, a worldwide legal coalition committed to pursuing legal action against “Israeli” and dual-national individuals involved in war crimes and crimes against humanity.
This unprecedented initiative spans multiple countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Malaysia, Türkiye, Norway, Canada, and the United Kingdom. It aims to activate domestic and international legal mechanisms to apply for private arrest warrants and initiate legal proceedings wherever suspects may be found.

The scope of Global 195 includes individuals who have fought in the "Israel" Defense Forces (IDF), as well as military and political leaders responsible for violations of international law.

🇧🇦🇵🇸🇮🇱 Bosnia and Herzegovina has joined a global legal effort to hold accountable individuals suspected of war crimes in Gaza. The International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) has announced the formation of Global 195, a worldwide legal coalition…
Using an extensive criminal evidence library compiled over the past 18 months, Global 195 will:
Submit criminal complaints to national law enforcement agencies.
Initiate private prosecutions in national courts against suspects.
Ensure that war criminals can no longer evade justice by traveling to friendly jurisdictions.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the memory of international justice for war crimes remains deeply significant, this legal action is a powerful reminder that impunity is not an option.

ICJP Director Tayab Ali emphasized:
"By activating domestic legal mechanisms across multiple jurisdictions, we ensure that those responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza can no longer hide. Justice must be pursued, no matter how powerful the perpetrators."

On this day, March 23, 1995, one of the greatest victories of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was achieved with the liberation of Vlašić and the raising of the lily flag on its highest peak.

The fighters of the 7th Corps, led by General Mehmed Alagić, in cooperation with units of the 3rd Corps, the 1st Corps, and the Guard Brigade of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, carried out the remarkable operation "Domet 1", liberating the highest peak of Vlašić (Opaljenik), the radio relay center at an altitude of 1,933 meters. European army generals had considered this position to be impregnable.

In the summer of 1994, while looking at the height of Opaljenik on Vlašić, Alija Izetbegović asked General Mehmed Alagić,

On this day, March 23, 1995, one of the greatest victories of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina was achieved with the liberation of Vlašić and the raising of the lily flag on its highest peak. The fighters of the 7th Corps, led by General…
"Can we liberate this?"
The general replied to President Izetbegović, "Either we take it, or we won’t be there."
The president asked, "How, Mehmed?"
The general confidently responded, "For what awaits us, I am already making preparations—digging shelters, cutting tree trunks—and to overcome everything, we must wait for the snowfall."

Preparations for the liberation of Vlašić took place at an altitude exceeding 1,500 meters, under extremely harsh weather conditions, including snowstorms. Despite this, the fighters' motivation to fight grew stronger each day. Commander Alagić made the decision to launch the attack on March 19-20, 1995, in the early morning hours. That morning, a powerful storm swept across Vlašić, but even that did not affect the 7th Corps. The attack began precisely as planned, at 4:00 AM.

Considering the mined terrain, deep snow, extreme cold, difficult topography, and available weaponry compared to the enemy, the liberation of Vlašić is regarded from a purely military perspective as the greatest operation in Europe after World War II.

The most important objective was achieved: halting the aggression against Bihać.

It remains one of the most famous and significant victories of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, still studied today in military academies around the world.

📜 The Legacy of Sufism in Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦

For over 600 years, dervishes (Sufis) and their tekkes (lodges) have been woven into the spiritual and cultural fabric of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their presence dates back to the arrival of Islam, even before the Ottoman conquest.

🏛️ Sarajevo itself is believed to have been founded around the Mevlevi tekke built by Isa-beg Ishaković in 1462 on the banks of the Miljacka River.

🌍 Dervishes were teachers, lawyers, artisans, and scholars, playing a key role in spreading Islam throughout Bosnia and the Balkans. The Ottomans formally established tekkes, including the Mevlevi tekke in Sarajevo, which, despite being destroyed in the war, remains a symbol of Bosnian Sufi heritage.

🏞️ Other famous tekkes include:
🔹 Blagaj Tekke on the Buna River, once used by Bektashis, now run by the Naqshbandi order.
🔹 Banja Luka Tekke, home to Naqshbandi Sufis.

✒️ Dervishes were poets, calligraphers, soldiers, and civil servants, actively shaping Bosnian society.

⚜️ Sufi traditions continue today, with dervish orders preserving their centuries-old heritage. Sufism reached Bosnia through early Ottoman campaigns and pre-Ottoman trade routes, where dervishes built lodges to rest and invite people to Islam.

Valuable Reminder:

Anybody who calls for abolishing NATO is either a lunatic ideologue or a malicious propagandist who wants to see Europe in flames. There is nothing wrong with NATO; the problem lies with the United States, which pushes what these people call "NATO aggression." There is no such thing as NATO imperialism—there is Western imperialism, which existed before NATO. Calling for the end of NATO because the United States tramples on its oaths and rules is just as absurd as calling for the end of the UN because the US disregards its rules.

🇧🇦 The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, made a statement from Israel after traveling from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Serbian capital by plane, despite an active central arrest warrant issued against him.

He stated that Israel is a country whose strength, history, and determination he respects.

Israel demonstrates that freedom and security have no price and that a people who know who they are will not accept being either a target or a subordinate. Just as Israel defends itself without apology, Republika Srpska defends its right to exist, to make decisions, and to uphold the legacy of its ancestors,” Dodik said.

He compared Serbs and Jews, claiming that both peoples "were nearly wiped out but survived."

That is why we understand each other. And that is why we stand together,” Dodik stated.

It is worth noting that Dodik’s flight from Banja Luka represents a failure on the part of state law enforcement agencies, and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Border Police is conducting an investigation into the border crossing.

🇮🇱🇧🇦 Dodik in Israel: "Hamas and ISIS Flags Waving in Sarajevo"

Milorad Dodik, President of Srpska and a fugitive from Bosnia's judiciary, visited Israel to attend a conference on combating antisemitism. In an interview with JNS, he made a series of false claims about Bosnia and Herzegovina, alleging that Hamas and ISIS flags were waved at protests in Sarajevo.

🔹 "Both our nations face attempts to deny them the right to exist."

🔹 "Republika Srpska and Banja Luka were illuminated with Israeli flags in solidarity."

🔹 "The Sarajevo court wants to remove me from politics with a politically motivated verdict – but I am moving forward!"

Dodik expressed strong support for Israel, condemned antisemitism in Europe and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and reiterated his commitment to "strengthening Republika Srpska’s autonomy."

📍 During his visit, he toured Yad Vashem, met with Israeli officials, and traveled to the southern region of the country, where he witnessed an Iron Dome interception of a rocket fired from Gaza.
