On This Day in 1972 the IRA murdered Alan Tingey, 25. Married father of 1. British Soldier shot while on foot patrol in West Belfast. He came from Nuneaton, Warwickshire and had a 2 year old son.

On This Day in 1971 the IRA murdered George Crozier, 23. British Soldier shot at observation post in Ardoyne. Paul Dacre wrote in the dailyexpressuk about his photo: “It was a haunting face. Young enough to be hopeful. Old enough to know better. A soft face hardened by reality”.
