You break it you fix it. Cheap hub I use for converting 10BASE-T to 10BASE-2. Got no voltage or polarity markings on the case and it's center negative. Oops. Luckily the voltage regulator sacrificed itself for the greater good. I flipped the barrel jack around using hot glue and spite.
