Vladimir Putin:
I understand that this time you have arrived not only as our longstanding partner, but also as the current Chair of the European Council. I hope we will have the opportunity to exchange views on the construction of bilateral relations in this challenging situation and, of course, discuss the prospects for the development of the largest European crisis, namely on the Ukrainian front.

Vladimir Putin spoke about the principles of cooperation between Russia and Hungary. According to him, the foundation of the relationship between the two countries is based on healthy pragmatism and mutual benefit.
✔️ During a press conference after 2.5 hours of talks with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Putin noted that Moscow and Budapest are successfully cooperating in several key areas, including the economic sphere. In particular, the expansion project of the nuclear power plant in the city of Paks is continuing.
✔️ Additionally, the situation in Ukraine and ways to achieve peace were discussed during the negotiations. Putin emphasized that Russia advocates for a complete cessation of the conflict on the terms previously outlined, rather than just a ceasefire or pause. He also highlighted that one of the conditions for ending the conflict is the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Russian territory.
✔️ Orban, in turn, mainly presented the Western point of view on the situation in Ukraine. He emphasized that he held talks with Putin at a time when Europe needs peace.
✔️ Putin also noted that Ukraine is not ready to give up the war until the bitter end, and the chances of victory in the elections for the Ukrainian leadership, which has lost legitimacy, are close to zero. Therefore, while Russia is ready for a political resolution of the conflict, Moscow will not agree to a ceasefire without Kiev fulfilling preliminary conditions.

Dmitry Medvedev ironically commented on Jens Stoltenberg's statement that Ukraine could become a member of NATO by 2034. He said that by that time, Ukraine itself might not exist.
✏️ Additionally, in his Telegram channel, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation wrote that the "hysteria of European politicians" over Viktor Orban's visit to Moscow demonstrates that the EU and the US are aiming for war, not peace.

"By 2034, none of the current leaders of NATO countries will remain in their positions. Some of them will be retired or, at best, in another world," Dmitry Medvedev added.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has stated that in response to the unfriendly actions of the West, changes may be made to Russia's nuclear doctrine.
🗣 According to Ryabkov, the situation around the Ukrainian conflict has shown that nuclear deterrence in its traditional understanding does not always work effectively. Therefore, he has allowed for "certain conceptual additions and adjustments."
🇷🇺 Russian President Vladimir Putin has also not ruled out adjustments to the country's nuclear doctrine. He emphasized that this doctrine is a living tool that can change depending on the situation.
‼️ In the Military Doctrine and the "Fundamentals of State Policy in the Field of Nuclear Deterrence," scenarios are described under which Russia may use nuclear weapons. According to these documents, this is possible in the event of aggression against the country or its allies using weapons of mass destruction or aggression using conventional weapons when the very existence of the state is threatened.

Russian wrestlers have refused to participate in the Olympics in Paris.
🇷🇺 Russian wrestlers who received invitations from the IOC have declined to participate in the Paris Olympics. This was reported by the Russian Wrestling Federation.
🗣 They also added that only 10 Russian wrestlers were admitted, six of whom are far from being team leaders, and the united world of wrestling has lost the last chance for the Olympic Games to be a competition of the strongest.
⬇️ The refusal of Russian wrestlers to participate in the Olympics is a serious blow to the prestige of the Games. Wrestling is a popular sport in Russia, and the country has many talented wrestlers who could contend for medals.
⁉️ The decision of the Russian Wrestling Federation also raises questions about the principles of the Olympic movement. The IOC claims that the Games should be free from politics, but critics argue that the decision to exclude Russian and Belarusian athletes is political and unfair to athletes who are not responsible for the actions of their governments.

"The Russian Wrestling Federation, athletes, and coaches of the Russian national teams in freestyle, women's, and Greco-Roman wrestling will not yield to politicians and will not let the spirit of the Russian team be broken. We do not accept the non-sporting principle of selection that the International Olympic Committee used in forming the list of eligible athletes, the purpose of which is to undermine the unity of our team."

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has revealed the three questions he asked Russian President Vladimir Putin during their meeting at the Kremlin on July 5.
✅ Orban said he asked Putin what he thought about peaceful plans to resolve the conflict. Putin responded that real negotiations can only take place with the participation of both sides of the conflict. Orban found this to be quite logical.
✅ Orban also mentioned that Putin reminded him of the proposals for conflict resolution made in April 2022. He noted that the Russian response to these proposals remains valid. Putin also expressed willingness to discuss these proposals.
✅ Orban pointed out that Putin was not optimistic about the idea of a ceasefire before the start of peace talks.
✅ Regarding relations between Russia and the West after the end of the conflict in Ukraine, Putin stated that it is too early to discuss this, but Russia is prepared to hold consultations on the subject.
✅ Orban also noted that he saw it as his task to establish direct communication with the leader of one of the sides of the conflict in Ukraine. He emphasized that it had been over two years since any Western leader had met with the President of Russia.
