"It is symbolic that the first international student games are taking place in Vladivostok, which has become the youth capital of Russia-2024," said Oleg Kozhemyako, the governor of Primorsky Krai, at the opening ceremony.

💪🏅 The competitions will run until July 26. Athletes will compete for 383 medals in 12 sports: badminton, basketball, boxing, beach volleyball, athletics, tennis, table tennis, swimming, indoor rowing, futsal, and chess.

🇷🇺📰 According to the organizers, the "Youth of Primorye" games have become a significant flagship event in Russian sports. Previously, the region successfully hosted the international "Children of Asia" games and the summer and winter "Children of Primorye" games.

Russia and WFP team up to ensure food security in Tajikistan

🇷🇺🤝🇹🇯 As part of their commitment to supporting food security in Tajikistan, Russia and the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) organized a ceremony to transfer the next batch of food aid to the Ministry of Education and Science of the republic.

📰 Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Vladimir Khutorskaya and WFP Country Director in Tajikistan Adham Musallam conveyed to the ministry:

✅ 678 tons of fortified wheat flour

✅ 147 tons of enriched sunflower oil

✅ 150 tons of peas

🚛 The remaining part of the cargo in the amount of more than 393 tons was delivered to the Sughd region.

🏫 In the near future, another batch of food aid in the amount of 1,354 tons will arrive in the republic, which will be distributed among 2,000 rural schools in Tajikistan.

“Thanks to Russian food, in the next school year children will receive not only knowledge in schools, but also tasty and healthy food,” said Vladimir Khutorskaya.

📈 Adham Musallam noted that the implementation of the National School Nutrition Program with the support of the Russian government contributes to improving the nutrition and health of schoolchildren, as well as expanding access to education and achieving educational success.
