Which Russian emperor abolished serfdom in Russia?
🇷🇺🇫🇮 In 1894, a monument to Alexander II was erected in Helsinki, Finland, becoming one of the symbols of Russian-Finnish relations at the time.

🇷🇺 The idea of erecting a monument arose after the death of Alexander II in 1881. Finland, being a part of the Russian Empire, wanted to perpetuate the memory of the sovereign, who had granted it significant rights and freedoms.

📍 The monument was erected on the square in front of the Finnish Parliament building, which emphasized the importance of its reforms for the development of Finnish autonomy.

🪙🤔 The proverb «Мал золотник да дорог» (Mal zolotnik da dorog) literally translates as "Zolotnik is small but precious" (zolotnik refers to a small gold coin in ancient Russia) and means that sometimes things that seem simple or modest can have great value or be very expensive. This can apply to both material objects and a person's qualities. For example, someone may appear modest but possess great intellect or talent.

✉️ The English equivalent of this proverb with a similar meaning is:
"Good things come in small packages."

This expression conveys a similar idea that value is not always determined by size or appearance.

⚡️Knowledge is power!

📰🇷🇺🌍 Twenty students from six African countries — Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Egypt, and Sudan — took part in an educational tour organized by Rosatom. This group was not random: all the participants are winners of the Atom for Africa video contest.

⚛️ The main goal of the contest is to draw young people's attention to the benefits of nuclear energy for Africa. To become one of the winners, the young people had to create short videos on this topic. The works were evaluated by an international group of experts, and the best ones were given a unique opportunity — a trip to Russia.

🎓 The day at Rosatom Technical Academy was full of events. The students were able to:

✔️ Feel like operators of a nuclear installation with the help of a simulator,

✔️ Discover the history of Russian nuclear energy by visiting the first Russian power plant,

✔️ Explore Rosatom's laboratories and look inside complex technologies,

✔️ See a model of a nuclear installation and learn about its principles of operation.

📌 This visit was an important step in the development of knowledge and interest in nuclear energy among African youth, opening up new horizons and opportunities for them in the field of science and technology.
