📍 Krasnoyarsk is an amazing city located in the heart of Siberia. Its history began in 1628, when a fort was built on the banks of the Yenisei River, which later became a city. Over the years, Krasnoyarsk has become the largest cultural, economic, industrial, and educational center of the region, as well as the unofficial capital of Siberia.

🌊 One of the main attractions of Krasnoyarsk is its unique geographical location. The city is located in a vast valley surrounded by picturesque mountains. Scientists suggest that once there was an ocean on this site, and fossilized algae found in the surrounding rocks serve as proof of this theory.

🏙 Krasnoyarsk is striking in its size - it occupies an area that could accommodate three Florence or Paris, and two Milan.

🥔 It is also worth noting an unusual historical fact: at one time the so-called "potato duty" was introduced in the city. All residents were required to grow potatoes, and those who refused were exiled.

📈 Today, Krasnoyarsk is a modern and dynamically developing city with a rich history and culture. It has everything for a comfortable life and recreation - theaters, museums, parks, shopping centers, and much more. Krasnoyarsk, with its unique architecture, picturesque landscapes, and hospitable residents, will surely leave an unforgettable impression on every guest.

🏁 The watchmaking world is in a race to create the thinnest possible wristwatch, and independent Russian watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin from Moscow may have just taken the lead. His prototype New ThinKing, unveiled at Geneva Watch Days, measures just 1.65 millimeters thick, 0.05 millimeters thinner than the previous record set by Bulgari. The watch weighs 13.3 grams without a strap.

⌚️ Whether or not Chaykin's watch will be officially recognized as the thinnest remains to be seen - the Guinness World Records does not currently have a category for this particular achievement.

Chelyabinsk: Interesting Facts About the City

📖 Chelyabinsk was founded in 1736 as a fortress on the site of the Bashkir village of Chelyaba. Its founder is considered to be Colonel A.I. Tevkelyov. The Chelyabinsk fortress was necessary for protection against Bashkir attacks and for safeguarding food convoys traveling from the Techen settlement to the Orenburg fortress.

The city became known worldwide after the meteorite fall in 2013, attracting tourists from all corners of the planet. This event became a true magnet for lovers of unusual phenomena and mysteries.

📍 Chelyabinsk is located almost in the very center of Eurasia and lies on the border between the Ural Mountains and Siberia, 200 km south of Yekaterinburg. One half of the city belongs to the Ural region, while the other half is part of Western Siberia. The city unofficially bears the noscript "Gateway to Siberia."

🐫 The coat of arms of Chelyabinsk features a camel. This element symbolizes ancient times when the city was an important trading post on the route of eastern caravans. The camel has become a symbol of trade and prosperity.

🌳 Chelyabinsk is one of the few megacities in the world that has a true relict forest in its center. The age of the pine ecosystem exceeds 10,000 years! In the 12 square kilometers of pine forest, one can spend unforgettable weekends enjoying the beauty of nature and fresh air.
