🇷🇺 Russia supports Africa in the fight against monkeypox

🌍 In response to the outbreak of monkeypox, specialists from Rospotrebnadzor conducted a mission in Burundi, Rwanda, and Uganda from September 4 to 13, 2024, participating in the fight against the disease.

➕ Experts assessed the epidemiological situation, organized laboratory testing, studied the clinical aspects of the disease, and enhanced preventive measures. More than 100 African specialists received training.

📈 The distribution of mobile laboratories and cooperation with the Russia-Burundi Center for Infectious Diseases improved the performance of local laboratories and adjusted treatment protocols.

🎙 This action is part of a program announced by the President of Russia at the Russia-Africa summit in July 2023. Rospotrebnadzor is actively assisting countries in overcoming epidemics.
