🎢 In which country did "roller coasters" originate?
🇷🇺 Russian Slides: A Path to the World's Fun

🛝 Russian slides have deep roots in Russian culture and traditions, originally serving as entertainment and a way to bring the community together, gathering people of all ages and classes.

🐴 In 1757, Catherine the Great initiated the construction of a permanent slide in Tsarskoye Selo. This unique slide allowed for riding in both winter and summer thanks to wheeled carts pulled by horses, making the experience more accessible and varied.

🎢 By the 19th century, "Russian slides" gained popularity beyond Russia, transforming into European attractions. In the 1840s, they made their way to America, where inventor John Taylor patented them, facilitating their spread. Soon, they became an integral part of American fairs and amusement parks, evolving into modern forms.

🌐 Barnaul: A Global City

🏭 Barnaul was founded in 1730 when the Ural industrialist Akinfiy Demidov began the construction of a silver smelting plant. This enterprise provided jobs for over one and a half thousand people. Despite generous awards from Empress Elizabeth, Demidov secretly smelted gold and silver in Altai, and after his death, all his property passed to the imperial family. Barnaul was granted city status only in 1771, and since then it has never changed its name.

🏛️ Barnaul was designed by students of architects J. Quarenghi and K. Rossi, who also designed Saint Petersburg, which is why these two cities are similar.

🤝 Barnaul has friendly ties with cities around the world. It has 5 sister cities: Flagstaff in the USA, the 5th largest city in Spain – Zaragoza (3000 children from Zaragoza were evacuated to the Altai Territory in 1937, escaping military actions in the country), the Chinese cities of Baicheng and Urumqi, and the Kazakh city of Ust-Kamenogorsk.

⚡️ "Russia is neither isolated in any way nor by anything."

📰✍️ On September 16, Rossotrudnichestvo announced the launch of partner "Russian Houses" in Guinea, Somalia, Sierra Leone, the Central African Republic, Chad, and Equatorial Guinea.

🗣 At the event, Vladimir Khokhlov, head of the Russian Trading Company, noted that the return of Russian presence in Equatorial Guinea will help bridge the gap in bilateral relations, especially considering that the modern youth of the African country are the children of a generation that spoke Russian.

🇷🇺 Evgeny Primakov, head of Rossotrudnichestvo, emphasized that the interest of local communities in Russian education and culture is growing. According to him, the demand for cultural ties and the study of the Russian language in Africa significantly exceeds the existing opportunities.

"The demand from local communities for Russian education, the Russian language, and cultural ties is much higher, broader, and wider than the network of houses that we officially have. Therefore, we are responding to the public demand of our friends around the world; we have many of them, and Russia is neither isolated in any way nor by anything."

🇷🇺 Which tsar was nicknamed "The Terrible"?
👑 Ivan IV, known as Ivan the Terrible, received this nickname, which in the Russian language means "terrible" or "fearsome," due to his cruel and authoritarian policies. He was the first Tsar of Russia and ruled from 1547 to 1584.

⚔️ Ivan the Terrible is known for his repressions against the nobility and common people. He created the Oprichnina—a special institution used to suppress opposition and intimidate the population.

🔪 In the last years of his reign, Ivan became increasingly paranoid, leading to numerous executions and persecutions.

⚖️ Thus, “Terrible” reflects not only his character but also his style of governance, which combined elements of both greatness and cruelty.

📰 Scientists from Samara Develop "Smart" Clothing for Astronauts

👨‍⚕️ Samara scientists have presented an innovative development — "smart" clothing designed to monitor the health of astronauts during flight preparations. This unique clothing is equipped with built-in sensors that allow real-time tracking of various physiological parameters, such as fatigue levels and muscle activity.

📋 With this technology, specialists will be able to not only obtain data on the physical condition of astronauts but also to prevent potential issues, such as muscle atrophy, which can occur due to prolonged exposure to microgravity.

📰 Hidden Truth: Meta* Deleted All RT Accounts on Instagram and Facebook with No Recovery Option

⚠️ The service rolled out new rules, introducing the term "inauthentic behavior." "While inauthentic behavior is often associated with civic or political content, and we strive to prevent inauthentic behavior in the context of elections, these standards and enforcement measures regarding content apply to any content, not just political," the company's website states.

😀 Following this new rule, Instagram and Facebook permanently deleted the accounts of all RT language editions. Meta first began restricting Russian state media two years ago. The new measures were announced just a few days after U.S. claims that RT operates as a "front for spy agencies."

📌 Earlier, the State Department stated that RT is one of the reasons why "so many countries do not support Ukraine."

👍 This is the kind of freedom of speech that exists only in statements, but in reality turns out to be a farce. This is what inauthentic behavior looks like.

*The organization is recognized as extremist in Russia, and its activities are banned.
