👀 How sternly the shoebill stares at us from the Moscow Zoo!

By the way, its huge beak (about 23 cm long and 10 cm wide) allows it to hunt fish very skillfully.

Shoebills mainly feed on frogs, fish, and small reptiles.

🏰 Great Ustyug is a mysterious city that seems to come alive in legends and traditions. Its name comes from the river Yug, and the prefix "Great" appeared during the times of Ivan the Terrible, when the city became an important contributor to the treasury. Although the official history begins in 1212, locals take pride in claiming that their city was founded in 1147.

🏛 Here, you can find unique museums, such as the Museum of Glass Bottles and the Museum of Christmas Ornaments, as well as experience Russian culture at the Museum of the Izba (traditional wooden house). And, of course, we can't forget to mention shanezhki – open pies with filling that are rumored to have been invented right here.

🌊 According to legend, to connect the rivers Sukhona and Yug, a warrior Aquarius descended from the heavens, depicted on the city’s coat of arms. Great Ustyug is not just a place on the map but a true treasure trove of Russian history and culture, where every corner breathes magic.

📍 Which of the following landmarks is located on Red Square in Moscow?
🇷🇺 The Voskresenskie Gates are one of the historical architectural landmarks of Moscow, located in the Kitai-Gorod area. They were built in the early 19th century and served as part of the city's fortification system. The gates are named in honor of the Resurrection of Christ, reflecting the religious significance and traditions of that time.

🛡 The architecture of the Voskresenskie Gates is designed in the neoclassical style, which was popular in Russia during that period. The gates are adorned with columns and sculptural elements, giving them a majestic appearance. They were part of a broader system of defensive structures intended to protect the city.

A Small Town Amidst Endless Cold

🇷🇺 Verkhoyansk is one of the coldest places on Earth and the coldest city in the world, located on the right bank of the Lena River, just 110 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. This northern city of Yakutia is also the smallest populated area in Russia that holds the status of a city.

🏙 By the end of the 19th century, Verkhoyansk became known as a place of political exile, and today its population, which numbers only 768 people, mainly consists of descendants of exiles and Yakut hunters.

🥶 The city gained fame due to its noscript as the "Pole of Cold" in the Northern Hemisphere, competing with Oymyakon. The temperature difference between them is just one-tenth of a degree: minus 67.8°C in Verkhoyansk versus minus 67.7°C in Oymyakon. However, due to the promotion of science during the Soviet era, Oymyakon became more widely known as the coldest place, and its residents were the first to capitalize on this record for tourism.

🪂 In which country was the backpack parachute created?
🇷🇺 One of the key figures in the history of parachute engineering is the Russian engineer and inventor Georgy Alekseyevich Kotelnikov. He is regarded as the creator of the modern backpack parachute, which differed significantly from earlier models.

🪂 In 1912, Kotelnikov developed a parachute design that allowed it to be compact and convenient for carrying on the back. This solution made the parachute more practical for use, especially in aviation.

🌏 Kotelnikov obtained patents for his invention in several countries, including Russia, France, Germany, and the USA. This reflects the international recognition of his work and the significance of his contribution to the development of aviation technology.

✔️ Kotelnikov's parachutes underwent successful testing, confirming their effectiveness and safety. His developments became the foundation for further improvements in parachute engineering.

🐈 A cat is being sold on "Avito" for 5 million rubles.

For the owner, she became the reason for his divorce from his wife and quarrels with two mistresses. The cat turned out to have a strong personality — the seller detailed all her characteristics in the denoscription.

"The cat, Sara, is a 3-year-old girl, a fiery cat, to be honest, quite something...) If you don’t pet her, you’re in trouble; she only wants to be petted when she feels like it (if she allows it), otherwise, she’ll poop right in front of you. If you forget to feed her, she’ll destroy everything she sees, the Italian sofa worth half a million is all torn up, the hallway, and much more (charger, watches, lighters). If you don’t give her water, say goodbye to your car keys; she’ll pee in your slippers. I’m being honest here, no complaints. I opened the toilet paper, and it’s all gone. When guests come over, she hisses and growls like a dog. Whoever gave her away for 15 million, I’m ready to sell her for 5,000,000₽)) Your life will definitely not be boring; it will turn upside down when she wakes up next to you, meowing at 6 AM to be fed. I won’t sell her cheaper because my soul will ache, but I’ll be confident in her abilities. That’s why everyone gets rid of them; my wife left me, and so did two mistresses. It’s a utopia to have such a cat.) I’ll also include the litter box, food for three months, a medical book, and a pedigree from the breeder. My ex-mother-in-law, who remains from my divorced wife, will come to trim her nails; I’m afraid to do it because she bites me))” — this is written in the ad.
