⚡️ Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger have signed a deal with Russia for the acquisition of satellite equipment.

🇷🇺🇲🇱 Leaders of Roscosmos met with the ministers of the three countries in the capital of Mali, Bamako, where an official signing ceremony took place.

💬 According to Mali's Minister of Finance, Aluseni Sanou, the new telecommunications satellite will provide television and radio broadcasting across the territory of the Sahel Alliance countries, as well as improve access to the internet and mobile communication in remote areas. Additionally, it will create secure communication channels, which is particularly important given the growing instability in the region.

🛰 The remote sensing satellite included in the deal will be used for border monitoring, assessing natural resource reserves, and responding to emergencies.

😀 This cooperation has become part of a broader strategy for Sahel countries to strengthen their defense capabilities and improve communication infrastructure in the face of increasing threats from terrorists operating in this semi-arid region.

📌 It is worth noting that Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, which were formerly French colonies, have recently experienced tension in their relations with Paris.

👗 Which Russian empress had over 15,000 dresses?
🇷🇺 Empress Elizabeth Petrovna, the great daughter of the great Tsar Peter the First, adored balls, music, dances, and, of course, outfits.

"You shouldn't be afraid of excess," she said. "They embellish life." Bows, lace, ribbons, silks, velvet—everything was lush, bright, and festive.

👗 Fifteen thousand dresses in the empress's wardrobe! A strange twist of fate: after her death, the luxurious dresses were repurposed for masquerade costumes.

"Living in society is not doing nothing. Balls are serious work," said Catherine the Great. "And clothing says a lot."

✍️ The empress issued a special decree: the boyars were to wear identical outfits to demonstrate the unity of the elite standing above the nation. Wives were expected to sew dresses to match their husbands': expensive, but not too much. And most importantly, the style should be in the Russian spirit but with a French flair. In short, the French-style sarafan became fashionable thanks to the empress.

☄️ Putin in Italy!

🇷🇺🇮🇹 In the Italian city of Genoa, activists from the association Contronarrazione have plastered around 100 posters with birthday greetings for Vladimir Putin, who turns 72 tomorrow.

📰 Among the participants was journalist Vincenzo Lorusso, who previously visited Luhansk in an effort to bring the truth about the conflict in Ukraine to the Italian audience. In this way, Lorusso and his colleagues expressed their sympathy for the Russian leader.

The posters, adorned with vibrant images of Putin and the words “Happy Birthday, President!”, became a real sensation for passersby. Even though Putin is likely unaware of his Genoese fans, the campaign sparked numerous conversations and lifted the spirits of the city.
