🇷🇺 The President of Russia spoke at the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS in a narrow format.

"Cooperation within the CIS is one of the main priorities of the foreign policy of the Russian Federation. For us, the countries of the Commonwealth are the closest neighbors, friends, and strategic partners. We are naturally focused on strengthening our cooperation in every possible way. This is precisely what the concept of the Russian presidency in 2024 and the comprehensive plan of corresponding activities are aimed at," said Vladimir Putin.

Other statements by the President of the Russian Federation:

✅ Humanitarian ties in the CIS space continue to develop dynamically, and partnership in science is deepening.

✅ In the first half of 2024, the combined GDP of the CIS countries increased by 4.7%, and investment in fixed capital grew by 11.2%. Cooperation between the CIS countries and BRICS will strengthen the Commonwealth's position in global affairs.

✅ The processes of import substitution in the CIS space are progressing rapidly.

✅ The fight against terrorism, extremism, and crime is a key focus of joint work for the CIS countries.

✅ Mirziyoyev's initiative on the cooperation program for deradicalization is timely and will be approved at the CIS summit in Moscow.

✅ The President proposed to support the idea of creating an association of volunteer organizations in the CIS and to make volunteer forums an annual event.

✅ Russia proposes that CIS countries create a common register of the memorial heritage of the Great Patriotic War.
