🍔 Did you know that burgers appeared in Russia as early as the 1930s? They were brought to the Soviet Union by Anastas Mikoyan — the People's Commissar of the Food Industry.

👀 He visited the USA and was so impressed by the production of burgers that he decided to feed Soviet workers with them. Burgers were referred to in a Soviet way as "hot cutlets." They resembled their foreign counterpart very little: the cutlet was served without a bun, ketchup, or onions. It was simply placed between two slices of bread, sometimes adding a piece of cucumber and sour cream. The only variation was in the type of bread the customer chose — white or gray.

🍟 After the war, the famous cutlets, which had long been called Mikoyan cutlets, appeared in urban cafeterias and cost only 7 kopecks. The next time Muscovites tried real burgers was 50 years later, in 1990, when the first large McDonald's opened in the capital.

Write in the comments what you think is better - Mikoyan cutlets or McDonald's burgers.

🏃‍♂️ Moscow is on the run!

🏁 Today, the Moscow Marathon took place, with a record 40,000 participants registered. Among the runners were both Russians and foreign citizens.

🏙️ The route of the Moscow Marathon passed through the central streets of the capital and key landmarks: the banks of the Moskva River, the Garden Ring and Boulevard Ring, the Crimean Bridge, Tverskaya Street, Teatralny Proezd, and, of course, under the walls of the Kremlin.

🥇 This year, the first place among men was taken by Moroccan Youness Bennair, who completed the distance in 2 hours, 11 minutes, and 34 seconds. After the race, the athlete stated that this marathon was "the coldest of his life." Among women, the victory went to Russian athlete Alexandra Morozova.

Could you run 42.2 km at a temperature of +5°C? 🥶
