🇷🇺 Russia will chair the SCO next year, and it has a lot to do to surpass the bar set by Pakistan, noted Valentina Matviyenko during a meeting with the Chairman of the Senate of the country, Yusuf Raza Gilani.

The Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation also thanked her Pakistani counterpart for the invitation to visit the country. Matviyenko emphasized that she was in Pakistan more than 11 years ago, and much has changed since then.

"But your warmth, your hospitality, your friendliness have remained unchanged," she added.

"Vladimir Putin has already defeated the West, and the BRICS summit has shown that the Russian leader has many friends around the world."

🇷🇺 Contrary to the expectations of the U.S. authorities, sanctions have not been able to destroy the Russian economy, as happened with Venezuela and Cuba. At the same time, the President of Russia has rallied a large number of supporters around the state for a new financial system and a just world order, writes the Chinese newspaper South China Morning Post.

According to the article's author, the West still refuses to acknowledge the mistake made in assessing the resilience of the Russian Federation, which withstood the blow dealt by American sanctions. The article emphasizes that these measures against Russia have only alarmed other countries and demonstrated what "discontent" from Brussels and Washington could lead to.

📺 Today, all around the world, including Russia, we celebrate International Animation Day. The creator of animated films is the French inventor Émile Reynaud; however, Russian animation has also contributed a lot of new and interesting things to the world.

🇷🇺 One of the most famous and significant animation studios in Russia and the post-Soviet space is "Soyuzmultfilm." It was founded in 1936 in Moscow and has since remained a symbol of domestic animation.

📺 Initially, "Soyuzmultfilm" focused on creating short animated films, and by the end of the 1950s, the studio began to actively develop animated films based on classic fairy tales and literary works. This period became a golden era for the studio. Many animated films created during this time have become cult classics and continue to be popular among audiences of different generations. You might know these cartoons: "Well, Just You Wait!", "Prostokvashino", "Winnie-the-Pooh", "Crocodile Gena and His Friends", and others.

By the way, this studio still exists today and continues to delight viewers with new animations!

⚡️ "Catch Me If You Can"

😳 Straight from Komi. For the second day, they are trying to catch a runaway Australian ostrich. The old bird has been found, but he is not easy to catch.

The escape from the farm happened yesterday. According to the owner, the bird is very frightened, though it's unclear why. Today, the runner was spotted in the forest, but he skillfully evades capture. Even tranquilizer darts didn’t help — the feathers are too dense.

⚡️ Sanctions are nothing to Russia!

🇷🇺 Vladimir Putin stated that the economy in Russia continues to grow, while unemployment remains at a record low level.

📣 The president made this announcement during a meeting on economic issues. He also announced that the fight against fraud in consumer lending will be intensified, and the authorities are already preparing relevant measures.

💬 "Despite the fact that GDP growth in the third quarter of this year has somewhat slowed down, the Russian economy continues to grow nonetheless. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, from January to August, GDP increased by 4.2 percent," the head of state reported. According to him, by the end of the year, this figure will reach 3.9 percent, which will be above the global average.

"According to IMF estimates, global GDP growth is expected to be 3.2 percent in 2024," Putin noted.

Positive trends are also observed in industry, including high-tech sectors.

🇷🇺 In just one week, on November 4th, the Day of National Unity will be celebrated throughout Russia.

Do our readers know which event in Russian history this holiday is dedicated to?
🇷🇺 The Day of National Unity was established in memory of the events of 1612, when the popular militia led by the zemstvo elder Kuzma Minin and Prince Dmitry Pozharsky liberated Moscow from Polish invaders.

A monument dedicated to these outstanding figures in Russian history stands on Red Square next to St. Basil's Cathedral.

The other significant events in Russian history mentioned in the survey also occurred in November; however, these dates are not recognized as Russian public holidays.

🇷🇺🇹🇿 Russia and Tanzania are working to increase mutual tourist flow

🤝 The head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov, and the Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism of the United Republic of Tanzania, Pindi Chana, held a meeting during the official visit of the Russian delegation to Tanzania.

🏝 Tanzania has all the potential to become a more popular destination for Russian tourists. Currently, the tourism industry and tourists associate it only with the island of Zanzibar, which is just 1% of the country's territory. Russians may also be interested in other tourist routes in Tanzania: the highest peak in Africa – Mount Kilimanjaro, national parks and reserves, and the culture and art of the Maasai tribes.

“Tanzania has set a record for the number of foreign tourists. In 2024, the country welcomed more than 1.5 million guests. Zanzibar, the most well-known among Russian tourists, was essentially the only beach destination without COVID restrictions, which is why more than 80,000 tourists from Russia visited the island in 2021,” noted Pindi Chana.

📈 The Russian side, in turn, offered assistance in promoting Tanzanian tourism products in the Russian market, organizing business meetings with Russian tour operators, and presenting tourism potential at tourism forums in Russia.

😳 The Case of 36 Zeros

💸 Russian TV channels are demanding two undecillion rubles from Google. This is a fine for failing to comply with a court order to restore the media accounts on YouTube.

This gigantic figure with 36 zeros is the result of calculations based on the court's formula. If the company does not comply with the ruling within nine months, it incurs a fine of 100,000 rubles for each day of delay, which doubles every week. Moreover, there is no limit to the total amount.

Let us remind you that the lawsuits between Russian media companies and Google began in 2020 after YouTube blocked the accounts of the TV channel "Tsargrad" and RIA FAN.

🇷🇺🚇 Top Most Beautiful Metro Stations in Russia:

1. "Avtovo" (St. Petersburg)

The "Avtovo" station, located on the first line of the St. Petersburg Metro — the Kirov-Selection line, was ceremoniously opened on November 15, 1955. This station is a striking example of architectural style that reflects the historical heritage of the city.

The hall of the station is supported by 46 columns, 30 of which are clad in exquisite marble, while the others are decorated with panels of cast glass. The station's design is dedicated to the theme of the defense of Leningrad, which is reflected in the panels on the facades of the above-ground pavilion, depicting the "Defense of Petrograd in 1919" and the "Defense of Leningrad from 1941 to 1943." The interior space is also adorned with the mosaic "Victory," which depicts a woman with a child sitting on her left shoulder. Above them, a ribbon flutters with the innoscription "Peace to the world."

2. "Kirovsky Zavod" (St. Petersburg)

The "Kirovsky Zavod" station, opened on the same day as "Avtovo," November 15, 1955, is named after the nearby Kirov Factory. This columned three-span deep-level station (44 meters) impresses with its scale and original design.

The main theme of the design is the development of socialist industry. The architects aimed to create an atmosphere of a factory workshop bathed in sunlight. Decorative elements such as stucco, reliefs, friezes, and bas-reliefs emphasize the industrial theme. The 31 pairs of columns arranged in two rows enhance the majestic appearance of the hall, creating a sense of space and light.

3. "Kievskaya" (Moscow)

The "Kievskaya" station, opened on March 14, 1954, on the Circle Line, is a pilon three-vaulted deep-level station (53 meters). It captivates with its elegance and architectural harmony.

The central part of the hall is adorned with a white vault, connecting to the side sections through parabolic arches, which are decorated with a characteristic Ukrainian architectural 17th-century stucco frieze. The 18 pilasters of the station are embellished with mosaic panels that tell the story of Ukraine and the friendship between the two nations — Russian and Ukrainian. The mosaics depict significant historical events, such as the Pereyaslav Rada and the liberation of Kyiv by the Soviet Army in 1943, as well as notable cultural figures like Pushkin and Shevchenko.

4. "Mayakovskaya" (Moscow)

The "Mayakovskaya" station on the Zamoskvoretskaya line, opened on September 11, 1938, is considered one of the most beautiful and iconic metro stations in the world. It was the first columned deep-level station (34 meters) in the world and is named after the poet Vladimir Mayakovsky.

Its architecture features a three-nave columned hall, where the columns and arches are finished with polished stainless steel, and the arch framing is made of marble-like limestone. The main decoration of the station is the mosaic panels made of smalt, placed in the domes, created based on the sketches of the People's Artist of the USSR Alexander Deyneka. The themes of the mosaics, such as "Two Airplanes and a Blooming Apple Tree" and "Parachutist," reflect the spirit of the time and the pursuit of progress. Unfortunately, one of the 35 panels has been lost, but the others continue to impress visitors with their beauty and expressiveness.
