🦝 Moscow Zoo opposes animal cafes

🇷🇺 The director of the Moscow Zoo and a member of the Moscow City Duma, Svetlana Akulova, has proposed to abandon animal cafes.

☕️ In Moscow, animal cafes continue to emerge, featuring various animals as main inhabitants, from mini pigs to hedgehogs, raccoons, owls, and snakes.

"Animals have to work around the clock, constantly exposed to noise and large crowds, which adversely affects their physical and mental well-being. Nocturnal animals are forced to stay awake during the day, disrupting their natural life rhythm. Using animals for entertainment contradicts the basic principles of humanity and respect for living nature," Akulova wrote on her Telegram channel.

What do you think about animal cafes?

🇷🇺 Russia has almost stopped grain exports to the European Union in response to tariffs

In light of the European Union's introduction of increased tariffs, Russia has virtually halted grain exports to EU countries, shipping only €21,000 worth of products in September, according to Eurostat data.

The European Union implemented increased tariffs on the import of grains, oilseeds, and processed products from Russia and Belarus starting July 1. Depending on the specific product, tariffs have increased either to €95 per ton of imported goods or up to 50%.

At the same time, the European Union actively stocked up on Russian grain before the tariff measures took effect. In June, imports nearly doubled to €11.8 million, compared to €6.5 million the previous month. In July, imports decreased fourfold compared to June, dropping to €2.9 million, while in August, they amounted to €3.7 million.

The high export rates of Russian grain from July to November, combined with declining yields, could lead to a threefold reduction in the export quota by 2025. Experts predict that this measure could result in rising wheat prices on the global market.

🇷🇺💬 RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan ironically commented on the participation of a Sky News journalist at the press conference of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

📰 Recall that during the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, a reporter from Britain tried to break through with her questions to the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry. She found out the location of the event, which was only attended by Russian and Brazilian journalists. The Russian side did not refuse her.

"Our brilliant Masha Zakharova organized a vote - the colleagues unanimously decided to keep the journalist in the room," Simonyan wrote on her Telegram channel, adding that after that "for some reason she turned red."

"When you suddenly see real democracy - you blush," the RT editor-in-chief explained.
