🦠 A virus 30 times larger than the one that caused the COVID-19 pandemic has been found in the Arctic.

📰 Scientists from the "Arctic Floating University" studied unique samples from the islands of the North Arctic Ocean and discovered giant viruses in them.

The size of the SARS-CoV-2 virion, which caused the coronavirus pandemic, ranges from 50 to 200 nanometers, while the giant virus found measures 1500 nanometers in length and can be seen under a regular microscope.

In addition, giant viruses have a very complex genome.

The origin of giant viruses and how they evolve remains unclear, as well as whether they pose any threat to humans.

📰 BRICS, SCO, and EAEU Work on Creating Resilient Platforms to Counter the West

🇷🇺 At a press conference following the joint meeting of the foreign ministries of Russia and Belarus, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are actively working on creating platforms that will be protected from the influence of the collective West.

"We need to develop our own platforms that will make us invulnerable to the arbitrariness of the West," he noted.

📌 The minister also pointed out that the sanctions imposed by the West have not only forced countries to seek new avenues for cooperation but have also opened up opportunities for strengthening independence.

"As the Chinese say: 'In every crisis, there are opportunities.' The sanctioning chaos has played a useful role in that we have stopped relying on those who have proven to be completely unreliable as negotiating partners," Lavrov concluded.

📰 This evening, Putin held a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, the defense industry, and developers of missile weapons.

🇷🇺 Key statements made by Vladimir Putin during the meeting:

Russia will continue testing the latest missiles, including under combat conditions, depending on threats to its security, the president announced.

Russia has a stock of ready-to-use systems, such as "Oreshnik."

The tests of "Oreshnik" have been successful, Putin stated, congratulating the developers.

The creators and designers of the "Oreshnik" system will be nominated for state awards.

The "Oreshnik" system is not a modernization of old Soviet systems; it is the result of the work of specialists from the new Russia.

The resolution of tasks within the framework of the Special Military Operation, as well as the future of Russia, depends on the soldiers and officers. Russian troops act competently, courageously, and professionally.

The "Oreshnik" system is another guarantee of Russia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. There are currently no interception means for "Oreshnik" in the world.

The "Oreshnik" system, when used en masse against enemy targets, will be comparable to strategic weapons.

Putin announced the decision to commence serial production of "Oreshnik," which will be supplied to the Strategic Missile Forces.

Several systems similar to "Oreshnik" are already undergoing testing. Russia is working on a whole range of medium and short-range missiles.

"Oreshnik" is a precision weapon; it is not a means of mass destruction.

🇷🇺 In Russia, detector glasses for vehicle inspections have been created.

👓 Innovative AR glasses have been developed in Russia, which can be used as a dashcam for inspecting vehicles. This technology will not only enhance the efficiency of inspections but also potentially aid in the fight against corruption.

📸 The AR glasses allow inspectors to connect to the device remotely and record what is happening, automatically documenting the start of the vehicle inspection and generating reports based on the results.

📈 As emphasized by the Federal Transport Oversight Service (Rostransnadzor), the use of AR glasses will significantly increase the efficiency of inspectors' work. With access to up-to-date data and analytical tools, inspections will become faster and more accurate. Additionally, this solution will enhance the safety of inspectors by improving their awareness of the surrounding environment.
