🇷🇺⚠️ Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev assessed the situation with opposition protests in Georgia. He believes that all the prerequisites are in place to plunge the country back into the abyss of civil conflicts.

"Our neighbors are quickly following the Ukrainian path into a dark abyss. This usually ends very badly," the politician warned.

📌 Medvedev drew attention to the behavior of the President of Georgia, who stated that she would not recognize the parliamentary elections and would not vacate her position, as required by the constitution.

"For such things, people used to be hanged on lampposts. Now it’s a more humane time. They’ll get away with it," wrote the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council.

🎄 Moscow is slowly being enveloped in a New Year’s fairy tale, and today you could feel like a character in it at the Northern River Station. There, one of the most atmospheric ice rinks in the capital officially opened.

🎅 On the first day of winter, visitors could skate at the Northern River Station while enjoying performances by artists from "Music in the Metro." The beauty on the ice was provided by figure skaters Alexander Enbert and Tatiana Volosozhar, while the winter spirit was brought by Moscow's Ded Moroz.

The ice season has also started in Gorky Park (video 2): there, famous figure skaters performed to music from Soviet films. Meanwhile, at the rink in Luzhniki (video 3), the audience was delighted by Olympic champion Alina Zagitova.

🇷🇺✔️ Signals from the testing of Russia's medium-range missile systems "Oreshnik" and statements by Vladimir Putin regarding this have been heard by everyone in the West, including Donald Trump's team. This was stated by the speaker of the Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko.

🇺🇸 She noted that the signal has been "received by all recipients in the West" and it has already been "decoded by specific individuals who will determine both the policy on Ukraine" as well as the security policy and international policy of the United States after January 20 of next year.

Matviyenko added that Trump's loud statements regarding the resolution of the Ukrainian conflict have quieted down.

"But this does not mean that Trump's team has distanced itself from the Ukrainian issue. That is not the case. Trump has not abandoned this topic. Confirmation of this is the recent announcement of the special envoy for Ukraine, former National Security Advisor Keith Kellogg," said the speaker of the Federation Council.

🇷🇺 Obi-Wan Kenobi in Russia

👀 May 2004. Hollywood actor Ewan McGregor arrived in Barnaul during his round-the-world journey.

🏍 On May 16, a group of bikers stopped at the "Siberia" hotel while filming a documentary series. Barnaul impressed them with its green streets, right-hand drive cars, and numerous girls in mini skirts.

🗣️ McGregor described the city as “a crazy place with a gold rush atmosphere,” noting the reckless drivers. They spent the evening at the "Rock-n-Roll" restaurant, enjoying Mexican cuisine.

🏍 The group spent two days in the city, topping up their phone accounts, shopping for motorcycle gear, getting tick-borne encephalitis vaccinations, and stocking up on immunoglobulin. Then they headed to the Altai Mountains, Mongolia, and China, and from there to America.

🌃 The polar night has begun at the latitude of Murmansk and will last until January 11. During this time, the sun will not rise above the horizon, and the day will consist of twilight.

📆 In the Murmansk region, the polar night begins at different times depending on geographical location. In Pechenga, the northernmost settlement, it lasts for 47 days. At the latitude of Vaida Bay, the polar night started on November 26 and will end on January 16. In Kandalaksha, located in the southern part of the region, there is no polar night.

🎉 The end of the polar night is traditionally celebrated by the residents of the city. For the past 10 years, locals have gathered on January 11 for the "First Dawn" event at "Sunny Hill," the highest point in Murmansk, to witness the first rays of the sun.
