🇷🇺 "Overall, our economy is stable, and we are developing," said Putin.

The President of the Russian Federation noted at the beginning of the live Q&A session that everything relies on the economy, which is the foundation of citizens' living standards. International financial institutions have ranked Russia first in Europe and fourth in the world.

Economic growth last year was 3.6%, and this year it will be 3.9%, or possibly even 4%, added Vladimir Putin. Over the past two years, economic growth has amounted to about 8%.

🇷🇺 "There hasn't been such an increase in products as there has been in consumption," said Putin.

The President responded to a question about the reasons for rising food prices in the regions of Russia. He noted that there are both objective and subjective reasons. One of the reasons is the mismatch between production levels and consumption levels—less is produced than is consumed. Additionally, the price increase is related to the level of the harvest and the rise in global prices for certain products.

There are also subjective reasons—our shortcomings. Some experts believe that the Central Bank could have used tools unrelated to raising the key interest rate earlier.

🇷🇺 "I participated in the final decision to produce it," said Putin about the "Oreshnik."

Putin noted that the "Oreshnik" is a modern, very new weapon, and its development has been underway since the Russian period. In response to a question about how this missile is related to older developments, the president emphasized that everything new is based on previous work.

"Why such a name? Honestly, I don't know!" said the president, responding to a question about why the weapon was named that way.

The President stated that a ring road with four lanes of traffic will be constructed around the Sea of Azov, which has become an internal sea of Russia. One section—from Taganrog to Mariupol—has already been completed and spans 40 km, while another section connects Mariupol and Donetsk, with a length of about 100 km.

The Russian leader noted that there is a massive program for the restoration and development of new territories, which is planned until 2030. Work is already underway and will continue.

🇷🇺 "Your bosses in the USA would like Russia to be weakened," said Putin about upcoming contacts with Trump and the distorted perception of the West regarding the state of the country.

🇺🇸 An NBC journalist asked Putin about future contacts with Trump when Russia is allegedly supposed to be weaker. The president assured that he would communicate with the new head of the White House—by that time, Russia would not be weakened as Western journalists portray it, who, despite the persecution of our press, are allowed to work in Russia. According to Putin, the country has become stronger, has increased its defense capabilities, and is coping with opposition from almost the entire NATO bloc.

🇸🇾 In the second question, the NBC journalist presented what he claimed was a letter from the mother of another American journalist who went missing in Syria—asking Putin for help in the search. The head of state noted that he had not yet met with Bashar al-Assad, and finding a person who went missing 12 years ago is practically an impossible task, as combat operations were ongoing. However, Putin promised to raise this issue with the former president of Syria.

The president separately commented on the presence of Russian fighters in Syria. According to him, the Russian Armed Forces went there to prevent the establishment of a terrorist enclave and achieved their goal. Special Operations Forces units were even deployed, and at the beginning of the conflict more than 10 years ago, Aleppo was defended by only 30,000 people.

🇷🇺 "If they are terrorists, why are you interfering?" — Putin on NATO's activities in Syria.

In response to a question from a journalist from the USA, Putin noted that American media want to portray what is happening in Syria as a defeat for Russia, but that is not the case. The president emphasized that Russia is interested in establishing peace in Syria.

"What are you interfering for?" the Russian leader reasonably asked. Putin pointed out that Russia intervened in Syria 10 years ago. When groups of the "armed opposition" approached Aleppo with 350 militants, the government forces retreated without a fight.

🇷🇺 "It was impossible to remain in the state we were in," — Putin on the reasons for the special military operation.

Vladimir Putin responded to a question about whether he would change his decision if he could return to February 2022. The president stated that if he could go back in time, he would not just stick to his decision—Putin believes that the special operation should have started earlier.

The president also mentioned that over the past three years, he has joked and laughed much less. The decision to initiate the special operation was necessary—it was prompted by the deception following the Minsk agreements and eight years of terror in Donbas. It was impossible to continue in such a mode. Putin emphasized that better preparation for active actions was needed, noting that the events in Crimea in 2014 were spontaneous.

🇷🇺 "Yes, I believe we not only safeguarded it — we stepped back from the brink of disaster," — this is how the President of Russia responded to a provocative question from a BBC journalist about whether he safeguarded Russia.

Vladimir Putin provided a detailed response to the BBC journalist's question, who, citing the special military operation, sanctions, inflation, and demographic issues, asked whether the Russian president believes he has safeguarded Russia. The head of state emphasized that everything that happened before led our country to a total loss of sovereignty, and without sovereignty, Russia cannot exist as an independent state.

Additionally, in response to a mention of Boris Yeltsin, who advised him to protect Russia, the President noted that in the West, they patted him on the back patronizingly and did not notice that he even "took a drink." However, as soon as Yeltsin spoke out in defense of Yugoslavia and stated that it contradicted international law and the UN charter, and that it was unacceptable in modern Europe to strike Belgrade, the capital of a European state, he was immediately persecuted and insulted. Vladimir Putin remarked that he did everything to ensure that Russia remained a sovereign power.

According to him, it is necessary to offer an interesting alternative rather than impose a ban.

🔝 The first artificial heart

📆 It was in 1937 that Vladimir Demikhov, then a third-year student, created the world's first artificial heart.

💗 The compact pump with valves and an electric motor allowed for maintaining circulation. With its help, it was possible to keep a test dog alive for over two hours.

🔖 Such devices give patients the opportunity to live until a donor heart transplant.

🇷🇺👨‍🚀 Russian cosmonauts went into open space to install scientific equipment

🔍 Alexey Ovchinin and Ivan Wagner installed a spectrometer on the service module "Zvezda." It is capable of observing more than 80% of the celestial sphere and will help scientists determine the number of supermassive black holes in the universe.

😳 The cosmonauts will then dismantle scientific equipment from the "Poisk" module. They are expected to spend 6 hours and 43 minutes outside the station, in open space.

❄️ Snow Hunter

🔥 The head of one of the municipalities in the city, Yuri Kulikov, released a video where instead of the usual winter shovel, he holds a flamethrower.

"Of course, we would like to remove all the snow and ice in our city with such a flamethrower, but that's just fantasy. It is much more important to have coordinated work from the utility services and the involvement of concerned citizens," Kulikov said.

🌨 According to the official's idea, the video is meant to motivate local authorities to clear the snow.

"I wanted not only to remove the snow but also to shoot a bright video for those who might come out for a community cleanup. It really should be organized," the head of the municipality added.

Would you go out to clear the snow after watching such a video?

👑 Could the Metro have appeared during the Tsar's reign?

🚇 May 15, 1935 — a date that forever remains in the history of the capital. It was on this day that the first train on the Moscow Metro line traveled through the underground tunnels, ushering in a new era in the city's transportation system. There is a legend that the metro could have appeared in Moscow much earlier, during the Tsar's time!

😦 The first projects for the creation of an urban underground railway began to be developed in the 19th century. However, they did not receive proper evaluation and were rejected. One of the reasons the metro was not built was the intervention of the clergy. Clergymen claimed that "man, created in the image and likeness of God, can humiliate himself by descending into the abyss." These words became a barrier to ambitious plans, and the ideas of underground railways remained only on paper.

📆 Nevertheless, despite all the obstacles, the dream of the metro did not fade. In the 1930s, when the country was undergoing significant changes, the idea of building an underground railway regained relevance. And so, after decades of waiting, the Moscow Metro opened its doors to passengers, becoming a symbol of progress and modernity.

Today, the Moscow Metro is not only the most beautiful in the world but also an entire underground museum. Each station is a work of art, reflecting the history and spirit of Russia.

What do you think would have changed in the lives of Muscovites if the metro had appeared in the 19th century?

🇷🇺 War has been declared on the Russian world today, Putin said

🇺🇦🇷🇺Today ukrainian army deliberately struck Rylsk on New Year's Eve. In 2023 they did the same, shelling the center of Belgorod right on New Year's Eve. Then the AFU struck Sobornaya Square, the local shopping center, the Central Market and the university - all those places where people congregate on New Year's Eve. This time one of the targets was the House of Culture, where preparations for New Year's Eve events were taking place.

🇺🇸 The AFU used Himars and ATACMS missiles with cluster warheads to shell Rylsk, so that there were as many casualties as possible. According to various reports, about 50 strikes hit the city, 6 people were killed, including a child - the total number of killed and wounded is being specified. With such attacks they try to show their impunity. However, the Russian army never shoots at civilians and will not be likened to the enemy. The AFU is waiting for an imminent retaliatory strike - but it will be struck at military targets.
