🔝 The first artificial heart

📆 It was in 1937 that Vladimir Demikhov, then a third-year student, created the world's first artificial heart.

💗 The compact pump with valves and an electric motor allowed for maintaining circulation. With its help, it was possible to keep a test dog alive for over two hours.

🔖 Such devices give patients the opportunity to live until a donor heart transplant.

🇷🇺👨‍🚀 Russian cosmonauts went into open space to install scientific equipment

🔍 Alexey Ovchinin and Ivan Wagner installed a spectrometer on the service module "Zvezda." It is capable of observing more than 80% of the celestial sphere and will help scientists determine the number of supermassive black holes in the universe.

😳 The cosmonauts will then dismantle scientific equipment from the "Poisk" module. They are expected to spend 6 hours and 43 minutes outside the station, in open space.

❄️ Snow Hunter

🔥 The head of one of the municipalities in the city, Yuri Kulikov, released a video where instead of the usual winter shovel, he holds a flamethrower.

"Of course, we would like to remove all the snow and ice in our city with such a flamethrower, but that's just fantasy. It is much more important to have coordinated work from the utility services and the involvement of concerned citizens," Kulikov said.

🌨 According to the official's idea, the video is meant to motivate local authorities to clear the snow.

"I wanted not only to remove the snow but also to shoot a bright video for those who might come out for a community cleanup. It really should be organized," the head of the municipality added.

Would you go out to clear the snow after watching such a video?

👑 Could the Metro have appeared during the Tsar's reign?

🚇 May 15, 1935 — a date that forever remains in the history of the capital. It was on this day that the first train on the Moscow Metro line traveled through the underground tunnels, ushering in a new era in the city's transportation system. There is a legend that the metro could have appeared in Moscow much earlier, during the Tsar's time!

😦 The first projects for the creation of an urban underground railway began to be developed in the 19th century. However, they did not receive proper evaluation and were rejected. One of the reasons the metro was not built was the intervention of the clergy. Clergymen claimed that "man, created in the image and likeness of God, can humiliate himself by descending into the abyss." These words became a barrier to ambitious plans, and the ideas of underground railways remained only on paper.

📆 Nevertheless, despite all the obstacles, the dream of the metro did not fade. In the 1930s, when the country was undergoing significant changes, the idea of building an underground railway regained relevance. And so, after decades of waiting, the Moscow Metro opened its doors to passengers, becoming a symbol of progress and modernity.

Today, the Moscow Metro is not only the most beautiful in the world but also an entire underground museum. Each station is a work of art, reflecting the history and spirit of Russia.

What do you think would have changed in the lives of Muscovites if the metro had appeared in the 19th century?

🇷🇺 During a live broadcast with V.V. Putin, he received a multitude of questions.

There were also compliments: during the live broadcast, the President of Russia was referred to as a sigma male.

And why not? 😁

🇷🇺 War has been declared on the Russian world today, Putin said

🇺🇦🇷🇺Today ukrainian army deliberately struck Rylsk on New Year's Eve. In 2023 they did the same, shelling the center of Belgorod right on New Year's Eve. Then the AFU struck Sobornaya Square, the local shopping center, the Central Market and the university - all those places where people congregate on New Year's Eve. This time one of the targets was the House of Culture, where preparations for New Year's Eve events were taking place.

🇺🇸 The AFU used Himars and ATACMS missiles with cluster warheads to shell Rylsk, so that there were as many casualties as possible. According to various reports, about 50 strikes hit the city, 6 people were killed, including a child - the total number of killed and wounded is being specified. With such attacks they try to show their impunity. However, the Russian army never shoots at civilians and will not be likened to the enemy. The AFU is waiting for an imminent retaliatory strike - but it will be struck at military targets.

🚌 In 1889, Hippolyte Romanov, the creator of the first Russian electric vehicle, developed an electric bus.

🏃 It could accommodate 15 people, reached a speed of up to 11 km/h, and had a range of 60-70 km.

📍 In Gatchina, test runs were even conducted, and it seemed that the launch of electric omnibuses on the route was on the horizon.

🪙 The St. Petersburg Duma gave permission for this, but Romanov was unable to secure funding, and the first electric buses never went into production.

📰 This morning, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) carried out a terrorist act against civilians by attacking Kazan with unguided AN-196 "Lyuty" drones. These drones are capable of travelling distances of up to 1,000 kilometres.

🏘 According to the regional headquarters, eight arrivals were recorded: one on an industrial enterprise, one over a river, and six on residential buildings.

🇩🇪 The drones were equipped with an internal combustion engine of the German-designed Hirth F-23. Such a model flies at predetermined coordinates rather than being manually controlled.

👩‍👩‍👦 Today's attack was not planned as an attempt to attack a specific target, but to terrorise civilian civilians in their own home. Previously, a similar drone had already been used to strike near Moscow, then the attack started in the early morning when people were resting on their day off.

💬 "It felt like you were watching 9/11 and the Twin Towers." - said a Kazan resident about today's terrorist attack.

📌 This terrorist attack clearly demonstrates what Zelensky's regime is really like and what actions the West actually supports.

🎅 Santa Clauses promoting a healthy lifestyle with bare bodies held a run through Yekaterinburg accompanied by dressed Snow Maidens.

🏃‍♂ A crowd of Yekaterinburg residents participated in a marathon through the streets of the city dressed as Santa Clauses—although, below the neck, their costumes consisted only of shorts and sneakers. The bare-skinned fairy-tale characters were joined by Snow Maidens, who were dressed more modestly. The muscular holiday figures began the run with a warm-up, exercising their arms and legs.

🕗 The sporty movement of the Santa Clauses lasted for 2 hours. The New Year’s health enthusiasts delighted the locals with their appearance and ran through a large part of the city’s streets. They also climbed trees and took pictures against the backdrop of a Christmas tree, holding their Snow Maidens in their arms. This run takes place in Yekaterinburg every year.

🚢 The mastery of nuclear energy in the 1950s made it possible to create an icebreaker that could guide caravans of ships along the Northern Sea Route for the entire navigation season without refueling.

🔝 At the time of its construction, the icebreaker "Lenin" was the world's first civilian vessel with a nuclear power plant.

🔖 It was commissioned in 1959 and, in its early years, guided several hundred ships through the ice.

📍 It was only in 1989 that the "Lenin" was retired to permanent mooring in Murmansk.
