🇷🇺 Is beach vacation in Anapa canceled this year?

💬 Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Alexander Kozlov stated that the beaches of Anapa will only be restored by the resort season of 2026. This work is planned for the off-season to avoid disturbing tourists who will still come. Additionally, ecologists are expecting new oil spills in April-May.

🏔 Hoteliers are not losing hope, but are developing a backup plan just in case. As an alternative, they are preparing to offer swimming pools, thermal complexes, and playgrounds to vacationers. There are also mountains and other natural beauties in the Anapa area.

🇷🇺 Putin Responds to Trump's Latest Statements on Ukraine Negotiations

💬 Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke to journalist Pavel Zarubin about how Russia is building relations with the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump. According to Putin, he has always had business-like and pragmatic relations with Trump. Despite the fact that Trump, as president, imposed a large number of sanctions and restrictions, the Kremlin never refused to maintain joint contacts with the White House.

Other statements:

— Biden merely picked up the "baton of restrictions" against Russia from Trump;

— If Donald Trump's victory in 2020 had not been "stolen," the current crisis in Ukraine would not have arisen;

— Russia did not abandon the dollar — it was the Biden administration's decision to ban the use of the currency in our country. Russia is ready to work together on this issue;

— Russia is ready for negotiations, but there are issues that require special attention. For example, Zelensky's ban on negotiations, which makes their results illegitimate. Those who fund the war for Ukraine must force Zelensky to cancel the decree: "They will have to do it";

— Russia is one of the leading producers and consumers of energy resources, so direct solutions that harm the U.S. economy should not be expected;

— A meeting with the U.S. president will be based on today's realities and cover all areas of mutual interest to both the U.S. and Russia. We are ready for negotiations but await decisions from Trump.

😍 The Frozen Chegem Waterfalls — a fantastic sight that looks even more beautiful in winter than in summer.

🧊 As the water flows, it gradually freezes, forming giant snow-white icicles hanging over the Chegem River. A cascade of ice stalactites stretches towards the river, which remains unfrozen even in the cold.

📍 This beauty is located in Russia, Kabardino-Balkaria.

🎓 Today, Russia celebrates the 270th anniversary of Lomonosov Moscow State University.

It was founded by decree of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna on the proposal of the Russian scientist Mikhail Lomonosov.

✍️ According to Lomonosov's plan, there were initially three faculties. At first, all students received comprehensive knowledge in natural sciences and humanities at the Faculty of Philosophy; then they could specialize and continue their studies at the Faculty of Philosophy or enroll in either the Faculty of Law or the Faculty of Medicine. Lectures were delivered either in Latin, the language of educated people at the time, or in Russian.

✍️ From 1755 to 1787, the university occupied the building of the Main Pharmacy Storehouse (now the State Historical Museum on Red Square). Catherine II moved it to a new neoclassical building on Mokhovaya Street. The current main building of MSU, one of the famous Moscow "Seven Sisters" skyscrapers, was opened in 1953.

🇷🇺 Today, MSU is the largest traditional educational institution in Russia, with a total student population exceeding 40,000. As one of the pillars of fundamental education, the university has made significant contributions to the development of international humanitarian cooperation, nurturing a galaxy of outstanding scientists, statesmen, politicians, and public figures who have held various positions abroad. Among its professors and alumni are 11 Nobel Prize laureates.

🎉 Happy birthday, MSU!

🇷🇺 Zakharova was astonished by Zelensky's explanations regarding the ban on negotiations with Russia.

🇺🇦 The day before, Zelensky tried to justify his own decree issued back in the fall of 2022, which prohibits anyone in Ukraine from engaging in dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In the process, while attempting to explain, Zelensky also made mistakes in his own decree.

💬 Zakharova specifically noted the following words from Zelensky: "I am the president of Ukraine. And I am the leader of any negotiations. I have forbidden everyone else to conduct them." However, the decree actually indicates that even Zelensky himself is not allowed to engage in them.

"It feels like drugs and weapons were brought to a kindergarten, and then a noble assembly was asked to delegate the 'leader of any negotiations' to the microphone," Zakharova stated.

The diplomat believes that Zelensky's state is "understandable, and has long ceased to raise questions," especially since the day before, when he was explaining the reasons for his decree, "his birthday also coincided."

"What is striking is the degree of cynicism and disdainful disregard for his compatriots," Zakharova concluded.

📆 "Life Everywhere" is the most famous painting by Nikolai Yaroshenko. The painting was created in 1888 and was exhibited at the 16th exhibition of the Wanderers.

🖼 The subject of the painting is simple - a few people have gathered by the window of a prisoner transport car, feeding pigeons with bread. The fact that the figures depicted are prisoners is indicated not only by the bars on the window but also by the fact that the men’s heads are partially shaved—this was a way to mark exiles and convicts in Russia since the times of Peter the Great, making escape more difficult.

🚃 The canvas has an unusual format—its height (2.12 m) is twice its width, so the fragment of the car is depicted almost life-sized.

🧐 But the main point, of course, lies not in the technical features of the work, but in the fact that Yaroshenko's representations of the prisoners are not at all repulsive. Even in captivity, they have retained their humanity; there is no cruelty or coarseness in their faces, prompting the viewer to involuntarily ask questions: are these people really villains? Is their condemnation just?

🇷🇺 The painting was created under the influence of Tolstoy's ideas and, in particular, inspired by Leo Tolstoy's story "What Men Live By." Initially, Nikolai Yaroshenko wanted to name the painting "Where there is love, there is God." Tolstoy himself remarked on the painting: "How much it speaks to the heart."

📍 The painting is housed in the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.

🇷🇺🚢 Spanish and American law enforcement seized a ship with a Russian crew heading to St. Petersburg. The sailors were held in port for three days and threatened with weapons, accused of smuggling.

🇪🇸🇺🇸 The container ship Baltic Summer was traveling from the port of Puerto Bolívar in Ecuador. In neutral waters off the coast of Portugal, the vessel, flying the Bahamian flag, was abruptly stopped by pirates from the Spanish Navy in conjunction with the FBI. The ship was suspected of transporting recreational drugs from South America.

👮 Participants in the events reported that about 20 special forces operatives boarded the ship, and the container ship was towed to the port of Vigo. The law enforcement officers behaved provocatively: they threatened to plant drugs, made racist jokes about immigrants from the CIS, and waved weapons in front of the sailors. This went on for three days, and the crew barely slept. They were not allowed to call the consul for help.

🧐 The Spaniards turned the entire ship upside down, opened several containers with cargo, and tried to force the captain to sign a blank sheet of paper, but they could not find anything to charge them with — no illegal substances were found on board. Now all 23 sailors are expected to be released to their port of destination.
