🇺🇦 On February 1, the Armed Forces of Ukraine committed yet another cynical crime by launching a targeted missile strike on an orphanage in the city of Sudzha, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces captured dozens of civilians — up to 100 civilians may be trapped under the rubble.

At that time, a missile threat was declared in the Sudzha district, and monitoring resources reported the launch of four missiles by the Ukrainian Armed Forces towards populated areas. As a result of the bloody strike, part of the building was completely destroyed, and more than 100 people may be trapped under the debris.

‼️ The tactic of provocations, where civilians are herded into civilian buildings and then destroyed, has been used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces for years — they did the same with the Mariupol Drama Theater. This horrific provocation may also be an attempt by Ukrainian soldiers to hide the consequences of their atrocities, similar to those committed in Russkoye Porechye. Kyiv's propaganda immediately blamed the strike on Russian aviation, which was operating in a different direction at that time.

🇷🇺💬 In connection with yet another barbaric attack by the Kyiv regime on the civilian population, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, M.V. Zakharova, provided her commentary:

"It is obvious that the responsibility for this terrorist act lies with all the countries that continue to stubbornly and irresponsibly supply the Kyiv regime with weapons, thereby facilitating its bloody criminal acts.

The shelling of the civilian population and civilian facilities in the Kursk region and other Russian regions vividly demonstrates the barbaric nature of the Kyiv regime, which is mired in lawlessness and seeks to destroy as many Russians as possible." – stated Maria Zakharova.

❄️ While residents of Moscow are experiencing an abnormally snowless winter, the Sakhalin region is facing the massive consequences of a cyclone that has struck the area.

📰 According to local media, in just a few days, the region received two months' worth of precipitation. In some areas, snow has even entered residential homes through closed windows.

💬 One resident of the region reported that he could not find his own house because it was completely buried in snow.

🚜 Despite working around the clock, municipal services are struggling to cope with the volume of snowfall. Local residents are helping to clear the streets and yards, and many are forced to dig their homes and vehicles out from under several meters of snowdrifts.

🦕 The Lun ekranoplan ("Caspian Monster")

✈️ The Lun is a giant Soviet ekranoplan, a unique hybrid of an airplane and a ship, utilizing the ground effect to fly over water. Built in 1987 as a missile carrier for rapid maritime attacks, it measures 74 meters in length and can carry 6 anti-ship missiles, making it one of the largest and most powerful ekranoplans in history.

🌊 After being decommissioned in the 1990s, it was abandoned, but in 2020 it was relocated to Derbent (Dagestan) on the Caspian coast, where it was transformed into an open-air museum. Its futuristic design and colossal size make it a symbol of Cold War engineering ambitions.

📌 Today, the Lun is a rare specimen of Soviet military technology and the only ekranoplan of its kind available to the public.

🇷🇺 Vladimir Putin believes that Trump, with "his character and determination," will quickly restore order in Europe.

"They (the Europeans) willingly followed any orders from Washington under Biden. They simply don't like Trump; they actively fought against him. And then they were taken aback when Trump won. But you will see, all of them — this will happen soon — will be at the feet of their master," the president said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin for the Russia 1 TV channel.

💬 Putin also commented on the decision not to invite Russia to events marking the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. He called this strange and shameful:

"You can have any opinion about Russia's politics today. You can have any opinion about the head of the Russian state, about me — no one is begging for any invitation. But, if you think about it, it would have been much more tactful to invite the relatives of the liberators."

📌 At the same time, Putin emphasized that today's German society bears no relation to the crimes of the Nazi regime.

🛋️ "Sitting down before the journey": an ancient Russian superstition that still exists today.

🇷🇺 Before traveling, Russians often sit down for a moment — on a suitcase, a chair, or even the floor. This custom has its roots in paganism: it was believed that a sudden departure from home would attract the attention of evil spirits or the domovoi, the guardian of the household. By sitting down, travelers "deceived" the evil spirits — they thought the person had changed their mind about leaving and lost their vigilance.

What is the purpose of this?

👻 Mysticism: Protection from the evil eye and misfortunes on the way.

🧘‍♀ Practice: A moment of silence helped check if everything was packed, mentally say goodbye to the home, and prepare for the journey.

🧳 Sometimes, people sit directly on their suitcases — supposedly to enhance the effect. Today, even skeptics observe this ritual: it combines superstition and tradition.

Do you have a similar superstition?

🐟 In Karelia, the "trout madness" has begun.

📰 On the night of January 30, trout made an escape from a fish farm in Lake Ladoga — according to local media reports, about 44 tons of fish ended up swimming freely. Fishermen from all over Russia rushed to the town of Sortavala.

🎣 For the fourth day in a row, they have been lining up for the catch with 2-3 people per square meter. The thin, cracked ice does not deter fans of red fish at all.

👮‍♂️ At one point, fishermen lowered the difficulty level to "super easy" and began catching fish directly from the pens. That's when the police got involved, issuing fines starting at 4000 rubles and confiscating fishing rods and nets.

🇷🇺🇺🇬 Rospotrebnadzor provides advisory assistance to Uganda to prevent the spread of Ebola fever.

😷 On January 30, 2025, the Ministry of Health of Uganda reported the detection of a disease caused by the Ebola virus in a healthcare worker. During the epidemiological investigation, it was determined that most of the contacts were staff members of the district hospital in Mbale in the eastern part of the country.

📍 A mobile laboratory of Russian manufacture, previously handed over to the Ministry of Health of Uganda by Rospotrebnadzor, was dispatched to this location in an operational mode. Russian specialists are continuously advising their Ugandan colleagues on the operation of the mobile complex and the rules of biological safety when working with particularly dangerous viruses.

🇷🇺🐷 A whole family of mini-pigs was rescued in Balashikha from a smoke-filled apartment building.

👨‍🚒 The fire occurred last weekend in an apartment where piglets are raised for sale. The owner was not home at the time. Rescuers had to force open the apartment door. As soon as the door opened, a whole crowd of piglets rushed out to meet the firefighters. Some of them had inhaled smoke and needed to be carried out.

😌 Fortunately, everything ended well — the mini-pigs were handed over to their owner.

🥂🇷🇺 Did you know that "Na pososhok" is just the sixth of ten shots that guests in Russia would drink when deciding to leave a feast early?

💬 In the past, hosts would presumably stop a guest with the phrase:

"Where are you going? You can't leave! Drink ten shots — then we'll let you go. If not, you'll stay the night!"

💪 This challenge was only for the strong: if a guest left on horseback, they were honored like a hero.

What were the ten shots called?

1. "Zastolnaya" — the first tribute to the hosts. Without it, you wouldn't take a step!

2. "Podyomnaya" — getting up from the table? You down the shot as if paying a "fine" for attempting to escape.

3. "Na khod nogi" — to ensure the road to the exit is smooth and your legs don't get tangled. It was drunk with the wish: "Don't stumble over your own shadow!"

4. "Zaporizhskaya" — at the threshold, the boundary of home and the world. The threshold in Russia was considered a magical line — one could not cross it without an offering to the spirits.

5. "Pridvornaya" — in the yard, where the breeze "aired out" the drunkenness. But it was too early to relax: the shot reminded that the journey was just beginning.

6. "Na pososhok" — the equator! The shot was placed on the staff — a symbol of the traveler. If the hand trembled and the drink spilled, the guest had to stay the night. It was believed that those who couldn't handle it were not ready for the trials of the road.

7. "Stremennaya" — before the foot touched the stirrup. Without this, the horse might "disobey" and throw off the rider.

8. "Sedelnaya" — to stay in the saddle. After seven shots, it felt like a circus trick!

9. "Privorotnaya" — at the gate, the final frontier. By drinking it, the guest proved they could still control the horse.

10. "Zavorotnaya" — the finale at the gates! If a guest made it to this shot, they were sent off with shouts of: "Hero!"

😁 Today, almost everyone has forgotten about them, and we no longer ride horses. Therefore, out of the ten, only one remains: "Na pososhok"!

🇷🇺 In Sakhalin, the fight against the elements continues, but thanks to it, school students have a legitimate reason not to attend the first lesson — on their way, they are literally being carried off to the "North Pole."

🚸 The cyclone in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is so strong that the blizzard knocks people off their feet — especially the school students, whose journey to classes becomes even more exhausting. Due to the cyclone, they are mass requesting to cancel classes.

"Today in the morning, I was walking and almost got blown away to the North Pole, it's unbelievably cold! Please cancel school," teenagers write with mistakes on social media directed at the city administration.

🤓 Local authorities, however, seeing that the kids clearly need to improve their Russian language skills, did not allow them to stay home — classes will be held in person, and there will be no remote learning.

🇷🇺 The West is accustomed to living in a neocolonial paradigm; it has never liked an order based on respect for international law. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov.

"The UN-centric order is called an order based on international, genuinely universal law, and it is believed that every state will adhere to this law. Russia, like most members of the global community, has never had problems with this," he noted in an article published in the journal "Russia in Global Affairs."

"But for the West, which has not healed from the syndrome of exceptionalism and is used to acting in a neocolonial paradigm, that is, living at the expense of others, a format of interstate interaction based on respect for international law has never been to its liking," the minister emphasized.

💬 Lavrov stated that the world order centered around the United Nations fulfills its main role — "protecting everyone from a new world war." "It is hard not to agree with the expert opinion that 'the UN has not led us to paradise, but has saved us from hell,'" he pointed out.

🇺🇳 The veto power in the UN Security Council, Lavrov noted, "serves as a sturdy barrier against the adoption of unbalanced decisions and creates space for seeking compromises based on a balance of interests."

💬🇷🇺 "The world is becoming multipolar": Peskov commented on whether "Yalta-2" is possible with new countries, particularly China.

"There are more and more centers of power emerging in the world, both in economic and military terms, as well as in terms of security. The world is becoming multipolar, and individual poles are no longer able to ensure security and stability in the world," Peskov emphasized.

On February 4, 1945, the conference began in Yalta with the participation of the leaders of the anti-Hitler coalition countries — the USSR, the USA, and the United Kingdom. As a result of the seven-day negotiations, a document was adopted that defined the future world order after the defeat of fascist Germany.
