🇷🇺 Sadko is a character from Russian bylinas, a Novgorod guslar (a bard) and merchant.

⚖️ The name Sadko has ancient Hebrew roots and translates to "just," "righteous," or "sincere."

🌊 According to legend, while playing music on the shores of Lake Ilmen (near Novgorod), Sadko touched the soul of the sea king, who helped him become wealthy. The hero became a merchant, engaged in trade across the sea, got married, and built himself a white-stone palace.

🎶 Composer N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, who wrote an opera based on this legend in 1897, infused the story with tragedy and lyricism.

🎞 In 1952, the story was interpreted in a film of the same name, which, by the way, became a prizewinner at the Venice Film Festival in the USA in 1953.

Both the film and the opera, as well as the text of the bylinas, will immerse you in a magical world of adventures and introduce you to the resourceful and clever hero!

🤯 "Obama gave you sh*t, I gave you Javelins." An emotional discussion between Trump and Zelensky on Friday, and this is not a bar, but the White House, although it feels more like a bar.

— Ukraine would have lost in two weeks without American weapons, Trump stated.

— Zelensky is playing with the lives of millions of people and risks unleashing World War III.

— The U.S. has given Ukraine $350 billion; it should be grateful for that. At the same time, Kyiv has no right to ask anything from the U.S., the American leader emphasized.

— U.S. Vice President Vance stated that there are no men in Ukraine capable of continuing the fighting. In response, Zelensky invited him to come and see for himself.

— Trump: If it weren't for our weapons, this war would have ended immediately.

To which Zelensky replied: In three days, I've already heard that from Putin.

🇷🇺🇺🇸 The destruction of Ukrainian-American relations in the White House.

The personal meeting between Trump and Zelensky got off to a bad start from the very beginning. Right at the door, the American leader mocked Zelensky for his appearance. Trump began the conversation in front of the press by demanding that they stop fooling around, agree on a ceasefire, and negotiate a deal on fossil fuels with Washington.

Trump's position was clear: Ukraine is losing, the U.S. is focused on ending the conflict, Russia wants the same, so a compromise must be reached.

In response, Zelensky started being rude, interrupting and shouting over the Americans. As a result, Trump delivered a 10-minute speech, concluding that Ukraine's problems are starting "right now." After that, Zelensky was kicked out of the White House, and the planned press conference was completely canceled.

📌 Trump summed it up: The illegitimate president Zelensky is not ready for peace and showed disrespect to the U.S. in a place sacred to them.

Please share your thoughts about today's meeting in the comments!

⚡️ Zakharova was surprised that Trump and Vance didn't beat up Zelensky.

💬 The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the scandalous exchange in the White House between the American president and the head of the Kyiv regime. She noted the restraint of Donald Trump and JD Vance.

Zakharova also stated about the biggest lie of the head of the Kyiv regime:

"I think the BIGGEST lie of Zelensky throughout all his lies is the statement in the White House that the Kyiv regime was left alone in 2022, without support. How Trump and Vance managed to hold back and not knock this scoundrel down is a miracle of restraint."

Come here, boy, we will calm you down.

🇪🇺🇺🇦 European leaders decided to support Zelensky after failed negotiations in Washington.

To help cope with the stress after the public humiliation, at least 14 representatives from different countries decided to step in:

🇪🇺 "Your dignity is an honor for the brave Ukrainian people. Be strong, be brave, do not be afraid. You will never be alone, dear president. We will continue to work with you for a just and lasting peace," said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa.

🇩🇪 "No one desires peace more than the citizens of Ukraine! That is why we are together seeking a path to a lasting and just peace. Ukraine can count on Germany – and on Europe," commented Olaf Scholz on the negotiations.

🇳🇱 "The Netherlands continues to support Ukraine. Especially now. We want a lasting peace and an end to the aggressive war unleashed by Russia. For the sake of Ukraine, its people, and all of Europe," said Secretary General of NATO Mark Rutte.

🇱🇺 "Luxembourg stands with Ukraine. You are fighting for your freedom and for an international order based on rules," added Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel.

Comments are unnecessary; you understand everything yourself...

🎬💬 Maria Zakharova commented on the clash between Zelensky and Trump using a fragment from the film "Heart of a Dog".

"February 28, 2025, USA, Washington, Oval Office," Zakharova captioned the post in her Telegram channel.

The quoted scene features Professor Filipp Preobrazhensky reprimanding Polygraph Sharikov in the presence of Dr. Ivan Bormental, stating that Sharikov occupies the lowest stage of development.

Preobrazhensky asserts that Sharikov’s actions are beast-like and describes him as a still-forming, mentally feeble creature.

🇷🇺 Vareniki — simple and, above all, delicious!

Vareniki are a traditional dish of Russian and Eastern Slavic cuisine, consisting of pieces of thin dough filled with various ingredients and boiled in water.

They are similar to pelmeni but often feature non-meat fillings (savory or sweet), making them a versatile treat.

🥔🍒🥬🍄 Classic vareniki are filled with potatoes, cottage cheese, cabbage, mushrooms, or cherries.

After boiling, they are served with sour cream, butter, or honey. Some even enjoy them lightly fried for a golden crust.

🍽 Like pelmeni, vareniki can be found everywhere in Russia. So, when you visit, you’ll surely try them!

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Amid the beggar’s trip to Washington, Kiev attempted to attack gas infrastructure in Krasnodar Krai using three UAVs.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, on the night of February 28, Ukrainian drones tried to strike the "Russkaya" compressor station in the village of Gai-Kodzor, which supplies gas via the TurkStream pipeline.

All three drones were shot down by Russian air defense systems at a safe distance from the facility. The station continues to operate normally, and gas deliveries were not disrupted.

📌 The attack aimed to halt gas transportation to the EU, emphasized the Russian Defense Ministry.

🔥 Epic footage from the Kaluga region, where a 26-meter castle with windmills was burned today in the Nikola-Lenivets park instead of a scarecrow.

The burning of the scarecrow during Maslenitsa is a ritual that symbolizes saying goodbye to winter and welcoming spring, the renewal of nature, and the beginning of a new life cycle.

⚡️ Macron Has Not Taken Concrete Steps to Communicate with Putin

🇷🇺💬 This was the response of Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov to French President Emmanuel Macron’s remarks, in which he did not rule out the possibility of resuming dialogue with Vladimir Putin.

"He has previously stated his readiness to communicate with Putin, yet he has taken no real steps in this direction. On the contrary, France has taken a position in favor of continuing the war by any means," Dmitry Peskov stated.

Peskov noted that time will tell how the position of Europeans will further evolve:

"taking into account their contacts with the Americans, and considering the sudden dynamics that have emerged in Russian-American relations overall."

🥗 Olivier Salad – The Signature Dish of Russian Celebrations

🎄 Olivier salad is one of the most famous dishes of Russian cuisine, without which no celebration is complete, especially New Year.

This hearty and delicate salad has won the hearts of Russians and become a true culinary tradition.

🍽 The classic recipe includes boiled potatoes, carrots, eggs, green peas, pickles, boiled meat (or sausage), and mayonnaise. All ingredients are diced and thoroughly mixed, creating a rich flavor with a light piquant note.

🇫🇷 The salad’s history dates back to the 19th century when French chef Lucien Olivier, working in Moscow at the Hermitage restaurant, created its original version. Over time, the recipe simplified, became more accessible, and was embraced by every Russian family.

Today, according to statistics, Olivier salad (or “Russian salad” as it’s known abroad) is the most popular New Year’s dish among Russians. On festive tables, its quantities are measured not in plates but in whole basins!

😁 If you visit Russia on New Year’s Eve, you definitely won’t leave without trying Olivier salad—we guarantee it!

🇷🇺💬 Lavrov said in an interview with the media holding "Red Star" that Zelensky is a "pure Nazi" and a traitor to the Jewish people.

Other statements from the minister:

— Secretary of State Rubio and Trump's advisor Waltz are absolutely sane people; in Saudi Arabia, Russia and the US were able to discuss issues.

— The West cannot explain what will happen to the territory of Ukraine and the Russian language if European peacekeepers take control.

— Discussions in Europe about peacekeepers for Ukraine are audacity, a continuation of "inciting" Kiev to war against Russia.

— Trump is a pragmatist. His slogan is common sense. It’s interesting to talk with him.

— The US is openly saying they want to end the Ukrainian conflict, but Europe demands the "continuation of the banquet" in the form of war.

— For the last 500 years, all the world's tragedies have originated in Europe; the States have not been instigators.

— Moscow and Washington have acknowledged that they cannot think alike on all issues of world politics, but we must not "bring it to war."

The Komi People: Guardians of Russia's North

🇷🇺 The Komi are one of Russia’s indigenous peoples, belonging to the Finno-Ugric language group. Their history, culture, and traditions are deeply intertwined with the harsh expanses of the Russian North.

📍 The primary territory of the Komi people is the Komi Republic, part of the Northwestern Federal District. The regional capital, Syktyvkar, means "city on the Sysola River" in the Komi language. Smaller Komi communities also reside in the Arkhangelsk and Murmansk regions, as well as the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.

📜 The ancestors of the Komi formed in the Kama River basin and migrated north by the 10th–13th centuries, assimilating local Ugric tribes. During the Middle Ages, their lands became part of the Novgorod Republic and later the Muscovite state. A pivotal moment was the adoption of Orthodoxy in the 14th–15th centuries, though elements of paganism persist in rituals and folklore.

🏹 Traditional Komi livelihoods include hunting, fishing, reindeer herding, and farming.

📔 The Komi language belongs to the Permian branch of the Finno-Ugric family. A Cyrillic-based noscript was created in the 14th century by the missionary St. Stephen of Perm and later reformed. Today, the language is taught in schools in the Komi Republic and used in newspapers and radio broadcasts. However, urbanization and the dominance of Russian threaten its survival: only 64% of Komi people consider it their native tongue.

📌 To preserve their cultural heritage, national organizations in the Komi Republic actively revive traditions through festivals like Vasiley and the Finno-Ugria Ethnopark, which have become symbols of their legacy.
