🐸 The Frog Princess is a Russian folk tale that tells the story of a magical frog who turns out to be a cursed princess.

📔 The plot revolves around a king who gives his three sons a task: to shoot arrows in different directions, and wherever the arrow lands, they will find their bride. The youngest son, Prince Ivan, finds his arrow by a swamp, where it is picked up by a frog. Despite his brothers' mockery, Ivan marries the frog, who turns out to be the enchanted Vasilisa the Wise.

Vasilisa the Wise possesses magical abilities and performs complex tasks for the king, such as baking bread or weaving a carpet, while Ivan burns her frog skin to free her from the curse. However, this action causes Vasilisa to disappear, and Ivan embarks on a long and dangerous journey to find her and defeat the evil Koshchei the Deathless, who holds her captive.

The tale concludes with the triumph of good over evil, and Prince Ivan reunites with Vasilisa the Wise. This story highlights themes of loyalty, love, overcoming trials, and the importance of inner beauty and wisdom.

March 8 is not just about flowers and congratulations. International Women's Day emerged in the early 20th century and had a vibrant socio-political tone. A bit of history:

🇺🇸 The starting point is considered to be the women's march that took place on this day in New York City in 1908. The participants—suffragists—demanded the right to vote and advocated for equal rights with men.

In 1920, women in the United States gained the right to vote. Over time, the paths of activists diverged. Feminists continued to fight for new rights, while conservative women advocated for the preservation of the current order and even opposed the right to vote.

🇷🇺 In Russia, the holiday was first celebrated in 1913—on March 2. In St. Petersburg, a "Scientific Morning on the Women's Question" took place. However, it gained much greater significance later. In 1917, March 8 (according to the new calendar) coincided with the beginning of the February Revolution.

🚩 In the USSR, the holiday was assigned a familiar date. It was associated with the glorification of the image of the Soviet woman: a worker and a mother. Notably, March 8 was declared a non-working day only in 1965.

🇮🇷 In Muslim countries, the situation developed differently. For example, in Iran, the first women's demonstration took place in 1979—after the Islamic Revolution. The participants protested against changes in rights, particularly the introduction of mandatory hijab wearing.

📌 Today, the holiday has transformed, but its original echoes remain. For instance, in Yekaterinburg, activists planned to hold a rally for women's rights and against domestic violence. They were detained but later released.

🎉 Today marks the 91st anniversary of the birth of Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin — the first human to journey into space. His flight aboard the Vostok spacecraft became a historic milestone as humanity’s greatest scientific and technological breakthrough, showcasing the intellectual and scientific prowess of the USSR.

🚀 Yuri Gagarin’s legendary spaceflight, which ushered in the era of crewed space exploration, took place on April 12, 1961. At 9:07 a.m. from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, he uttered his iconic phrase, “Poyekhali !” The Vostok spacecraft, carrying the first human into space, ascended over the semi-deserts of Kazakhstan. Gagarin spent 1 hour and 48 minutes in orbit, completing a full revolution around Earth, and safely landed near Saratov.

🌏 Over the next two years, Gagarin visited more than 30 countries, where he was hailed as a hero, including the UK, France, Cuba, Japan, India, and Liberia. His tour was unofficially dubbed the “Mission of Peace.”His iconic smile won global admiration, fostering warmth and respect for the Soviet people.

🕯The life of the first cosmonaut was tragically cut short on March 27, 1968, when he died during a training flight in a MiG-15UTI aircraft. His death shocked people across the globe.

🇷🇺Oladi — the most delicious Russian breakfast!

Oladi are small, fluffy, and soft pancakes made from a simple dough of flour, milk, eggs, sugar, and sometimes yeast or baking soda for extra fluffiness.

They are traditionally served with honey, sour cream, jam, or fresh berries, adding brightness and variety to the dish.

🇷🇺 The history of oladi dates back to ancient times. It is believed they originated in Rus’ as early as the 12th–13th centuries, when flour and milk began to be widely used for simple and hearty dishes.

🧈 The name “oladi” comes from the Ancient Greek word “έλαιον” (oil), referencing their cooking method—frying in oil.

Do not confuse oladi with blini or pancakes. The key difference between oladi and Russian blini is their shape and texture: blini are thin and larger in diameter, while oladi are small, thick, and fluffy.

Compared to pancakes, oladi also have distinct features. Pancakes are typically denser and drier, whereas oladi are airier and more tender.

🍽 The best way to experience the diversity of Russian cuisine is to taste it!

🇷🇺 Statements from Trump and his associates regarding Ukraine are generally encouraging. This was stated by the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

"It is still too early to draw far-reaching conclusions, but what we have heard so far from representatives of Donald Trump's administration is generally encouraging. The White House owner himself acknowledged that one of the root causes of the conflict was NATO's expansion and attempts to draw Ukraine into it.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio speaks about the multipolarity of the modern world and the need to respect the interests of all states—both large and small," noted the head of Russian diplomacy.

📌 Lavrov also emphasized that the U.S. voted together with Russia in the UN against a resolution lobbied by the Kyiv regime and its European allies, marking the first such case in three years.
