🇷🇺 Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, denied being dependent on government structures, stating that he is Russian and would "rather die than become someone’s asset."

"I am Russian! And I would sooner die than become someone’s asset. I think those who express such opinions know little about my life’s journey — about what I did before Telegram, and the role VKontakte and Telegram have played in defending freedom of speech and privacy in Eastern Europe."

📌 Earlier, a French court once again rejected a request by Telegram’s founder Pavel Durov, who is under investigation, to leave the country. He had planned to travel to Oslo to participate in a forum.

🏠⛵️ Why bother with an apartment when you can live on the water?

The modern trend in Moscow and the Moscow region is houseboats – floating homes that can be used as a residence, a dacha, or a full-fledged office.

🟡 Right now, in the Moscow region alone, there are about 200 of them. Houseboats are even sold on marketplaces and are cheaper than an apartment in Moscow.

Such a floating home is built in 4 months. Its area is about 65 square meters, and it can reach speeds of up to 10 km/h (6.2 mph).

Would you like to settle in one?

🇷🇺 Vladimir Putin stated that the May 9 celebrations in Moscow demonstrated the commitment of Russia’s friendly nations to building a safe world.

Other key points from the President’s address to participants of the 13th International Meeting of High-Level Security Officials:

— Combating attempts to rewrite history and question the USSR’s contribution to the Victory over Nazism is especially urgent today;

— Building a security architecture must draw on lessons from the past, particularly the Victory over Nazism;

— It is vital to make our continent a space of peace and stability, setting an example of sustainable economic, social, and cultural development.

📌 For the first time, representatives of Afghanistan’s new government are participating in this Russia-hosted security meeting. Delegations from BRICS, SCO, CSTO, and other key partners also gathered in Moscow.

🇾🇪 Russia and Yemen: It's Complicated

Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council, arrived in Moscow on an official visit and met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Following a series of meetings with representatives from the Arabian Peninsula countries, this might be seen as a success, but the situation is far more complex.

Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council is one of several rival factions that have long been vying for power in the country. It does not control the capital, Sanaa, and relies heavily on support from Saudi Arabia. The UAE is also involved in Yemen's civil war, backing another faction – the Southern Transitional Council. Currently, the most combat-effective and legitimate force operating in Yemen with Iranian support is the Supreme Political Council, led by the Ansar Allah movement (also known as the Houthis). The Americans recently tried unsuccessfully to strike them; these same Houthis constantly launch attacks against Israel, which is fighting Palestinian resistance forces in the Gaza Strip.

Reports emerged suggesting that Russia provided the Houthis with weapons during the height of the Palestinian conflict. Current events indicate that the political vector is likely shifting. The only question is, in whose favor? Russia has never expressed direct support for the Houthis, recognizing the Presidential Leadership Council as the sole legitimate force in Yemen. This current shift is most likely linked to rapprochement with the UAE, as the agenda outlined by Putin will focus primarily on discussing trade and economic cooperation, as well as collaboration in education.

How Iran will react to this and how it will affect the situation in Yemen remains unclear, but we will likely see soon. At the very least, Rashad al-Alimi has been invited by the Russian President to attend our country's summit with the League of Arab States this autumn.

🇷🇺 "Germany is sliding down a slippery slope it already descended toward collapse in the last century," Lavrov stated, commenting on Merz’s remarks about long-range missiles for Ukraine.

"Direct involvement in the war is already evident. <...> I hope responsible politicians in Germany will make the right choice and stop this madness," he told journalist Zarubin.

The Foreign Minister also addressed Trump’s recent statement about Putin:
"Putin has no idea that if it weren’t for me, many bad things would have already happened to Russia—and I mean really bad. He’s playing with fire!" Trump wrote on his social media.

According to Lavrov, the American leader is not given full information, as it is filtered through a sieve.

"We will strive to correct this lack of information," he concluded.

🇷🇺 Vladimir Putin held a meeting of the Council for the Development of Physical Culture and Sport on "Developing Adaptive Physical Education and Adaptive Sports." Here are key points from the President’s address:

Sport has always been and remains a vital resource for providing physical, psychological, and social support to people, as well as a means of self-realization. This resource must be used effectively for the benefit of those requiring special care and attention from the state.

Russia continues to enhance social protections for people with disabilities and develop habilitation and rehabilitation systems. A comprehensive action plan for disability habilitation and rehabilitation—leveraging adaptive sports—must be drafted and approved urgently.

A detailed inventory of all national sports facilities must be completed by year-end, followed by a modernization, renovation, and equipment plan. By 2030, demand for specialized equipment must be fully met.

People with disabilities must have access to quality orthotic and prosthetic care. A registry of organizations providing such services will be created. Support for Russian orthotic/prosthetic manufacturers must also be strengthened.

Adaptive sports must be promoted, informing people with disabilities about opportunities in physical education and sports. All relevant information will be published accessibly on the Gosuslugi portal and other media. The goal is universal access—regardless of location, income, age, or fitness level.

Encouraging competitive sports participation is essential. This requires expanding the adaptive sports calendar and increasing public events.

Another priority is enabling veterans of the special military operation to engage in sports. The Defenders of the Fatherland Cup competitions will be integrated into federal/regional sports plans, allowing all veterans (combat/non-combat) to participate.

Long-term adaptive sports development must align with national goals, improving quality of life for citizens, society, and the state. A Concept for Adaptive Sports and Physical Education Development until 2030 and beyond to 2036 will be drafted.

📰 Head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has ordered a criminal case to be opened over threats against Vladimir Medinsky.

Earlier reports emerged that Ukrainian nationalists are threatening the family of the head of the Russian delegation in negotiations with Ukraine, including his children.

Medinsky had previously stated that the Russian side proposed a date and time to Ukraine for holding the second round of negotiations to resolve the conflict. He said he personally called Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. Thus, Medinsky refuted information from international media that Russia had not yet prepared a memorandum.

The Investigative Committee promised to take measures to identify those involved in order to bring them to criminal responsibility.

🇷🇺 Bravo! Ahead of International Children's Day, Vladimir Putin held a video conference meeting with families awarded the Order of Parental Glory, mothers bestowed the honorary noscript of "Mother Heroine," and members of their families.

The President spoke with large families from various parts of Russia: Yekaterinburg, Penza, Birobidzhan, Simferopol, Melitopol, as well as Kaliningrad Oblast, Kemerovo Oblast, Ryazan Oblast, and the Republic of Ingushetia.

A particularly touching moment of the meeting was the performance by the children of the Belayev family from Penza, who played a musical composition for the head of state.

During the conversation, Vladimir Putin gave a special gift to the family from Yekaterinburg in honor of the mother's birthday – a vacation at Krasnaya Polyana in Sochi.

⚡️ Thousands of Saiga Antelope Flee Kazakhstan for Russia

More than 500,000 saiga antelope from Kazakhstan decided the grass is greener in Russia and stampeded across the border into the Saratov region. The figures were provided by Denis Gorbunov, head of state monitoring for hunting and fisheries.

As is usually the case with illegal migrants, during their week-long invasion they have thoroughly disrupted the lives of locals – trampling fields and winter crops, stripping pastures bare, and monopolizing watering holes from Russian livestock, according to local channels. The saigas aren't just taking food for no reason either; they've already eaten everything back home.

But there's nothing to be done about these newcomers – they have immunity from deportation thanks to the International Red Book (IUCN Red List). They can only be found in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Kalmykia, and now – the Saratov region.

🇺🇦🇷🇺 Ukraine Transmits Draft Ceasefire Memorandum to Moscow

A high-ranking Ukrainian official informed media that the Kyiv authorities have sent Moscow a draft memorandum on a peaceful settlement, which stipulates a ceasefire "on land, sea, and in the air," along with international monitoring of the truce.

The document was transmitted to Moscow on May 28th, and to Washington the day prior. Andriy Yermak, Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, confirmed that Kyiv awaits Russia’s version of the document to ensure the next Istanbul meeting "proceeds constructively." Russia, meanwhile, proposed holding a negotiation round in Istanbul on June 2nd and presenting its own version of the memorandum.

Dmitry Peskov, Spokesperson for the Russian President, declined to disclose details but noted that the parties are indeed discussing a temporary ceasefire. The Russian Foreign Ministry added that Russia’s draft will reflect core settlement principles, agreement timelines, and a potential ceasefire upon reaching consensus.
