⚡️ Boeing Suffers Damage After Exiting Russia. Rostec CEO Chemezov reported this to Putin.

The President inquired about the state of the titanium production (referring to the VSMPO-AVISMA enterprise — Ed.). In response, the Rostec CEO stated that while current capacity utilization hasn't reached full levels, it is primarily sustained by orders from Russian aircraft and helicopter manufacturers.

Chemezov's remark that freezing the joint project with Boeing led to reduced volumes but allowed them to retain half of the intellectual property rights for new alloys caught the President's attention. "So, I understand they suffered damage from this exit?" Vladimir Putin asked.

The Rostec CEO confirmed this, stating that the Americans had brought in a large number of modern machine tools, which were used to establish an entire production line.

Boeing had used Russian titanium for aircraft production. As a result, VSMPO-AVISMA has reoriented itself towards the domestic market.

⛪️ Sreten Monastery

A Moment in History

Founded in the 14th century, this monastery has witnessed pivotal historical events in Russia.

In 1378, the Church of Mary of Egypt stood on this site at Kuchkovo Pole, built by Prince Vladimir the Brave for his mother, Maria. Under Tsars Mikhail and Feodor Romanov, monastic cells and the abbot’s residence were constructed. In 1679, a new cathedral honoring the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God was built, which survives to this day.

After the 1917 Revolution, Sreten Monastery became a major center of Orthodoxy in Moscow. In 1925, after five-and-a-half centuries of history, the monastery was dissolved. Most of its buildings were destroyed. The Vladimir Cathedral was converted into an NKVD (Soviet secret police) officers’ dormitory: the church was split into multiple floors, and stoves were installed. In the 1950s, a school building was erected on the monastery grounds.

The monastery reopened in 1995. It now houses Russia’s largest Orthodox publishing house, a renowned male choir, and a seminary.

🚘 A driverless Kamaz truck transported the head of Kamaz to the SPIEF.

The footage shows Sergei Kogogin himself sitting in the passenger seat while the vehicle stays in its lane and performs maneuvers.

Last year, the head of Kamaz also traveled to the forum in a driverless vehicle. Kogogin called the trip boring since there's nothing to do in the car — "you don't have to do anything, the car drives itself."

Scenarios for Technology Repatriation Discussed at SPIEF

📰 First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov took part in a panel session at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) dedicated to scenarios for technology repatriation (reshoring) and the role of foreign companies in the Russian market.

📌 In 2022, a number of foreign companies from unfriendly countries unilaterally terminated cooperation with Russian partners, demonstrating their unreliability as business partners. At the same time, as Denis Manturov noted, many of them had made investments, leaving enterprises at an intermediate stage of localization.

This particularly affected the packaging segment. The departure of the largest manufacturer caused disruptions in the supply of thick cardboard and special inks. As Denis Manturov emphasized, the industry managed to ensure import substitution for these products, meeting all consumer demands while simultaneously enabling a number of companies from other industrial sectors to acquire new expertise.

🇷🇺 Russia Opposes All Trade Wars and Restrictions — Putin Speaks with Heads of Global News Agencies

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with representatives of global news agencies at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). The President emphasized that Russia opposes trade wars and restrictions, advocating instead for a fair world order and adherence to global trade rules.

Key statements by the President:

— Underground factories in Iran exist, and "nothing has happened to them";

— Russia has reached an agreement with Israel to ensure the safety of approximately 200 Russian specialists building a nuclear power plant in Iran;

— Russia is becoming a significant partner for China, with joint investment projects worth $200 billion planned;

— Russia and China will hold joint military exercises this year. Notably, Russia is the undisputed leader in heavy-lift helicopters, which are even used by the UN;

— Germany cannot mediate in the Ukraine conflict resolution because it is involved in the conflict. In some cases, Russia views Germany as a participant in hostilities in Ukraine;

— Supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine will not affect the course of the SMO (special military operation) but will damage Germany-Russia relations;

— NATO’s rearmament is not a threat to Russia, as the country continuously enhances its capabilities. Increasing NATO defense spending to 5% of GDP is pointless.
