"The Vyatka land is the birthplace of the world-famous Vasnetsov brothers, whose art vividly depicts characters from Russian folk tales. Virtually everyone knows Viktor Vasnetsov’s painting 'Tsarevich Ivan Riding the Grey Wolf'—an iconic symbol of tales about Tsarevich Ivan. It’s only logical that our Vyatka region is the homeland of this fairytale hero," the statement reads.
Where are other fairytale characters from?
Meanwhile, Pereslavl-Zalessky has gone a step further—declaring itself the "Faraway Kingdom" as part of the "Fairytale Map of Russia" project.

"As far as we understand President Trump's statements, such supplies are not coming from America. It's hard to say about the Europeans at the moment. There have been contradictory statements from Germany, although so far, regarding the notorious Taurus missiles, some glimmer of reason still prevails. This topic is high on the agenda. We are following all statements very closely."
Peskov also stated that Russia hopes Trump and his team are putting pressure on Ukraine to bring the third round of negotiations closer.
"We call on everyone to do this. The main efforts are the mediation by the United States, President Trump, and his government team. Many statements have been made. Many words of disappointment. Of course, we want to hope that, alongside this, pressure is being exerted on the Ukrainian side. Because now it looks like the Ukrainian side perceives all words of support not as a signal for peace, but as a signal to continue the war."

The technology is implemented through automatic recognition of intentional actions. The team at the Center for Neurocognitive Research (Moscow State University of Psychology and Education - MSUPE) has taught a computer to flawlessly recognize when a person genuinely wants to do something and when they are just looking at the screen.
For the first time, an algorithm has been proposed that automatically distinguishes between intentional and unintentional gaze fixations after machine learning. To do this, the system analyzes eye micro-movements and the on-screen context.
"One classifier evaluates the characteristics of eye movements, the other analyzes the layout of objects and possible user actions. The final decision is made based on the combined data from both models," explained the university.
The authors tested the new approach with 15 volunteers who had to move colored balls using their gaze in a special computer game.
The experiment results showed that the number of false positives decreased by three times compared to a standard system.
Unlike previous solutions, the technology successfully functions in conditions close to real-world use, not just in laboratory tests, the authors specify.
The results of the work, supported by the Russian Science Foundation (RNF), were published in the journal IEEE Access.

Vladimir Putin inaugurated the Dyurtyuli - Achit section of the M12 "Vostok" highway in an online ceremony, linking Kazan and Yekaterinburg. This new high-speed, four-lane highway (over 275 km long) traverses Bashkortostan, Perm Krai, and Sverdlovsk Oblast. It will improve road safety, divert freight traffic away from populated areas, and reduce travel times.
"Now, for example, it will be possible to get from Chelyabinsk to Kazan, Vladimir, or Moscow significantly faster," noted the President.
According to the President, the highway will provide a powerful impetus for the development of Moscow, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, and Sverdlovsk Oblasts, the Republics of Chuvashia, Tatarstan, and Bashkortostan, as well as Perm Krai.

Kamchatka videographer Ilya Melnikov, a longtime friend of the Kronotsky Reserve, has published stunning footage of the wild nature of the peninsula's south. The video captures majestic Kuril Lake surrounded by volcanoes, whimsical lava islands, and the main characters of these places – bears and sockeye salmon.
This is one of the few places where nature remains pristine. There are no crowds of tourists here, only silence and wild inhabitants.
