Russia to Expand Network of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

⚡️ The growing popularity of electric vehicles (EVs) and their environmental benefits are driving the development of specialized transport infrastructure. Thanks to existing government support measures, Russia already has over 2,000 fast EV charging stations in operation.

⚡️ Under the national project "Industrial Support for Transport Mobility," the government will allocate an additional 5.7 billion rubles to expand EV charging infrastructure. Subsidies will compensate charging station operators for part of the costs of purchasing new equipment and connecting it to the power grid.

🔵 This decision will enable the rollout of approximately 1,900 new EV charging stations within the next 3 years.

"It is crucial to actively expand this infrastructure geographically so that EV owners across the country can conveniently charge their vehicles and travel without hassle. This is a key factor driving demand for electric cars," emphasized Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

⚡️ Russia no longer considers itself bound by the moratorium on the deployment of ground-based intermediate and shorter-range missiles, according to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry.

It emphasized that the actions of the "collective West," aimed at deploying destabilizing missile systems near Russia’s borders, pose a serious threat to regional and global stability.

"As our repeated warnings on this matter have been ignored, and the situation is evolving toward the actual deployment of U.S.-made ground-based INF missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, the Russian Foreign Ministry states that the conditions for maintaining a unilateral moratorium on similar weapons have ceased to exist," the statement reads.

📰 The southern part of Kamchatka shifted nearly two meters southeast, reported a branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). This is comparable to the horizontal displacements observed after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake in Japan.

The maximum co-seismic displacements following the July 30 earthquake were recorded in the southern part of the peninsula.

"The Petropavlovsk cluster of stations, and hence Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky itself, shifted somewhat less. This displacement pattern aligns with the preliminary model of movements at the source, where the maximum shift occurred on the southern flank of our enormous source. This explains the full macroseismic effect in Severo-Kurilsk, but a less pronounced one in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky," the statement noted.

🪖 Military History Festival "The Great War. 1914" Held in Tsarskoye Selo

For the third time, the "Great War. 1914" festival took place on the grounds near the Ratnaya Palata (Chamber of Military Glory) – the first museum in modern Russia dedicated to the events of World War I. In the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, the festival brought together over a hundred participants from military history clubs in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and the Republic of Belarus.

Visitors saw recreations of army life, field camps, an exhibition of military equipment and weaponry, as well as demonstration horse riding performances featuring elements of Cossack trick riding (dzhigitovka) and saber skills with the Cossack shashka. A recreated airfield with a full-scale replica of a "Farman F.16" allowed visitors to imagine how Russian aviation operated during the war years.

For the first time, the festival also presented the world of civilian life – Art Nouveau era costumes, household items, and early 20th-century games. The history of tragic events came alive before visitors' eyes – in details, images, and objects that tell not only about the war itself but also about the era that surrounded it.
