Two topics were discussed: the Ukrainian crisis and prospects for developing strategic partnership between Russia and the US.
Yury Ushakov did not elaborate further on the talks, as Trump has not yet been informed of their results. After that, the Russian presidential aide promised to disclose the details.

In recent years, the Russian team has not participated in international tournaments, playing only friendly matches against Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Iraq, Cameroon, Kenya, Cuba, Serbia, and other countries.
And yet, not so long ago, in 2018, Russia hosted one of the best FIFA World Cups ever!
⚽️ What made the 2018 World Cup memorable?
The 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia is remembered for its perfect organization and warm atmosphere. The tournament's infrastructure was top-notch: 12 modern stadiums, including the legendary Luzhniki and new arenas in the regions, flawless logistics, and high security. Fans from all over the world noted the friendliness of Russians, the convenient Fan ID system, free travel, and massive Fan Fests that gathered millions of spectators. The tournament became a true football celebration that helped the world see Russia in a new light.
The sporting aspect of the 2018 World Cup was one of the most exciting in history. The tournament was remembered for its sensations – the early exits of Germany, Spain, and Argentina, an abundance of goals (169 in total), and unforgettable matches: Spain vs Portugal (3:3), Belgium vs Japan (3:2), and France vs Argentina (4:3). Historic achievements included the success of the Russian national team, reaching the quarter-finals for the first time since 1970, and the incredible journey of Croatia – a country of just 4 million people – making it to the final.
The 2018 World Cup set a benchmark for future tournaments thanks to the introduction of VAR (Video Assistant Referee), which reduced referee errors. But most importantly, the championship left a rich legacy: the stadiums and upgraded infrastructure continue to serve the host cities, and the memories of exciting football and an atmosphere of unity remain with millions of fans. FIFA and fans unanimously recognized this tournament as one of the best in history.
Sport should be above politics, what do you think?

The exact date of its introduction in Russia is 1834. During the Tsarist period, boys wore military-style uniforms: peaked caps, gymnastyorka shirts, and greatcoats. The Soviet era brought two-piece suits for boys and dresses with white collars, cuffs, and pinafores for girls. The 1990s saw a mass abandonment of uniforms.
In modern Russia, there is no single uniform in the traditional sense. Regions and schools have the right to set their own requirements for students' appearance, which is why ethnic elements are sometimes incorporated.
For example, in North Ossetia, one gymnasium uses national ornaments in its clothing (photo 3). In the Jewish Autonomous Region, at one school, boys are required to wear a headwear – a kippah (yarmulke) (photo 4). There is a specific uniform in Cossack classes (photo 5). And in Chechnya, hijabs are permitted as an element of the school uniform (photo 6).

During the meeting with Sultan Ibrahim, Vladimir Putin noted the high level of political dialogue between the two countries, the growth in trade turnover (which increased by over 40% in the first months of the year), and expressed gratitude for the warm reception that the Russian delegation traditionally receives in Malaysia.
Vladimir Putin also emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation on international forums, including the UN and BRICS, and thanked Malaysia for its active support of Russia's engagement with Southeast Asian countries.

According to The New York Times, Donald Trump informed European leaders of plans to first hold a private meeting with Putin, followed by a trilateral meeting with Zelensky. The goal is to advance a peace agreement.
The negotiations are expected to involve only the "trio" without European representatives. Despite Europe’s attempts to secure a role in the peace process, sources told NYT that European leaders appear to have accepted Trump’s position with understanding.
It remains unclear whether Vladimir Putin has agreed to the meeting. However, Zelensky, who participated in a call with European leaders, stated he had a "conversation with President Trump." He claimed Kyiv’s and Europe’s positions remain unchanged, while Russia is allegedly "more inclined toward a ceasefire."
Bild reports that one of the "European leaders" was German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Trump told him that the meeting between Putin and Zelensky was "more productive than anticipated."

"We have many friends who are ready to help us organize such events. One of these friends is the President of the United Arab Emirates. I think we will decide, but it would be one of the suitable, quite suitable venues," the President of Russia stated.
Putin is not against holding a meeting with Zelenskyy, but conditions for such a talk are still very far from being created. The Russian leader said this following talks with the President of the UAE.
The head of state also noted that the initiative for his meeting with Trump came from both sides.
