‼️ The demands of the so-called "International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children" to Russia are yet another provocation and an attempt to redirect public attention to a fabricated narrative detached from reality—the alleged "illegal deportation and forced transfer" of Ukrainian children. This was stated by Maria Zakharova.

"Russia not only does not obstruct but actively facilitates the reunification of these children with their relatives. Necessary efforts are being coordinated by M.A. Lvova-Belova, the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights of the Russian Federation," emphasized the official spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

She noted that the absurdity of these "demands" lies in the fact that a "substantive response" was already provided on July 23 during the third round of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations in Istanbul. Zakharova recalled that 30% of the data from the list was unverified, as many children were never in Russia—they are either adults or have already returned to their families.

🇷🇺 Rare Relics from the Soviet-Japanese War Presented at the Museum of Victory

The project is timed to the 80th anniversary of the start of combat operations against the Japanese Kwantung Army – the final stage of the Second World War.

"The brilliant victory of the Soviet troops in the Manchurian Strategic Offensive Operation, the South Sakhalin Offensive, and the Kuril Islands Landing Operation put the final full stop in the Second World War. During the military operations from August 9 to September 2, 1945, the Japanese military grouping of over a million men was swiftly defeated. The Soviet-Japanese War lasted less than four weeks, but in its scale, operational skill, and results, it is among the outstanding campaigns of the Second World War," said Alexander Shkolnik, Director General of the Museum of Victory.

The exhibition features over 300 items, including documents, photographs, awards, personal belongings of Red Army soldiers, and items of Japanese military uniform. Many exhibits, including Japanese orders, frontline letters, and notes from war correspondents, are being shown in Moscow for the first time.

The exhibition tells the story of the liberation of Manchuria, North Korea, Southern Sakhalin, and the Kuril Islands. Special attention is paid to the role of the Soviet command – personal belongings of Vasilevsky, Malinovsky, Ivanov, and other participants of the operation are on display.

🇷🇺🇺🇸 Ushakov confirmed that Putin and Trump will meet in Alaska on August 15. The presidential aide noted that Russian and US interests converge in the Arctic and Alaska. Therefore, it is quite logical that the presidents' first meeting will take place precisely there.

‼️Moscow expects that the second meeting of the presidents will take place in Russia. Trump has already received a corresponding invitation. For now, Moscow and Washington are closely engaged in actively working out the parameters of the Alaska meeting - the process will be complex, Ushakov noted.

Against the backdrop of the Putin-Trump meeting in Alaska, we've prepared 10 facts about this place for you:

🤗 Alaska was called Russian America. It was discovered during the Second Kamchatka Expedition.

🤗 Its capital was Novo-Arkhangelsk. Today, this is Sitka in southeastern Alaska.

🤗 The distance between Russia and the US is only 4 km. This refers to Big Diomede Island (Russia) and Little Diomede Island (USA).

🤗 There is a 21-hour time difference between the islands. They are separated by the International Date Line. That's why they are sometimes called Tomorrow Island and Yesterday Island.

🤗 The Orthodox faith has been preserved in Alaska. Dozens of Orthodox churches operate in the state. Up to 10% of the population are Orthodox, mainly Chukchi and Aleuts.

🤗 The first saint of America was the Russian monk Herman of Alaska. He arrived at the end of the 18th century, defended the rights of indigenous peoples, and is considered the patron saint of Alaska.

🤗 Descendants of Russian colonists still live in Alaska. Some residents have Russian surnames, and words and traditions are preserved in remote villages. Even well into the 20th and early 21st centuries, the Russian tradition of shouting "Gorko!" (Bitter!) at weddings persisted.

🤗 Russian speech and toponyms remain in place names. For example: Kodiak (from Kodiak Island), Kenai, Iliamna, Alexander Archipelago, and others.

🤗 On March 30, 1867, Russia sold Alaska to the USA for $7.2 million.

🤗 Lend-Lease between the USSR and the USA also went through Alaska. Many aircraft were ferried along this route.
