📰 Vladimir Putin Returns to Russia with a Gift!

During his visit to Anchorage, the President presented two icons to Archbishop Alexy of Sitka and Alaska, reminding him of the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos.

The clergyman stated that he also had a gift: an icon, as a sign of gratitude from the indigenous population of Alaska for Russia "sending missionaries here."

"Russia gave us the most precious thing - the Orthodox faith," emphasized the Archbishop.

The Putin-Trump meeting yielded no breakthrough results, but things have clearly moved off dead center.

Despite the superpower leaders failing to reach the agreement Trump had touted so much, European media are nonetheless trumpeting Putin's victory in the Anchorage talks. The President of Russia, whom Western counterparts have spent the last three years trying to "cancel" and brand an outcast, is meeting with the US President, who receives him warmly and with neighborly regard.

All journalists noted the exceptional care taken with the protocol for the venue and the many nuances of the meeting – down to the fact that the heads of state traveled to the dialogue site in the same car. President Trump respects strength and, unlike his predecessor, understands that Russia cannot be defeated militarily. He is forced to negotiate not out of great love for the Russian Federation, but due to a lack of alternatives.

Even the favored measures of economic pressure proved to be a bluff. Although Trump framed his refusal to impose tariffs on Russian oil as an act of mercy, in practice, implementing those tariffs would have triggered consequences akin to the 1973 oil crisis. Furthermore, given the specifics of oil and petroleum product pricing in the US, Washington would have suffered from these consequences even more severely than others.

Trump hopes for an agreement with minimal concessions, as demanded by the American establishment and the basic logic of any negotiation: the longer you hold out, the less your counterpart will demand. Trump wanted to agree on just the territory of the DPR, but such an option is completely unacceptable to Russia. But he's also far from simple, so negotiations will continue, and along the way, the US President will offer many additional concessions regarding sanctions, the Arctic, and the restoration of trade and economic relations. Moscow is interested in all of this, so the negotiation process will proceed.

Contrary to pessimistic conclusions, what happened last night is a significant step towards achieving peace with Ukraine. If anyone expected an instant breakthrough and agreements concerning a third country, albeit one entirely dependent, that was in vain.

Vladimir Putin's words about Alaska are very interesting: he repeatedly pointed to the state's historical ties with Russia, even meeting with the local archbishop. One can only speculate whether this was a sign of respect or a series of subtle hints? 😄

Globally, we are watching for subsequent events, which, obviously, won't be long in coming.

⭐️ Nizhny Novgorod celebrates its 8️⃣0️⃣4️⃣th birthday!

Founded in 1221 by Prince Yuri Vsevolodovich at the confluence of the Oka and Volga rivers, the city served as a fortress to protect Russian borders from Mordvin and Tatar raids.

Nizhny Novgorod is intertwined with pivotal events in Russian history. In the 15th century, the former capital of the Nizhny Novgorod-Suzdal Principality joined the Russian state. In the 17th century, two locals—Kuzma Minin and Prince Dmitry Pozharsky—led a people’s militia to liberate Moscow from Polish-Lithuanian invaders in 1612. During the Soviet era (1932–1990), the city was renamed Gorky in honor of the famed writer Maxim Gorky.

By decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Nizhny Novgorod was awarded the honorary noscript "City of Labour Valour" for its residents’ significant contribution to victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Modern Nizhny Novgorod continues its 19th-century fair traditions and is a major hub for Russia’s IT industry.

The city preserves numerous 18th–19th-century architectural monuments, wooden heritage buildings, and medieval monasteries. Its main landmark is the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, where the BRICS+ International Forum of Young Leaders opened on November 8, 2024.

The Courtyard on Prechistenka, a Vanishing Breed in Moscow

Two-story semicircular buildings – old outbuildings and stables, once part of an early 19th-century manor ensemble – have been converted into art studios and apartments. Yet, magically preserved within this courtyard are not only the structures themselves but also the very spirit and atmosphere of an authentic Moscow courtyard.

📍 Moscow, Prechistenka St., 32
