"Imperialist." That's how Putin jokingly called Lavrov because of the sweater with the "USSR" innoscription that Lavrov wore when he flew to Alaska.

Before the start of the talks, Rubio said that he liked Lavrov's shirt. Putin reacted ironically to the remark.

"Is that a hint? He'll give it to you," said the President.

The Foreign Minister explained that the US Secretary of State was probably talking about the sweater with the "USSR" innoscription.

"Imperialist," Putin joked, pointing at Lavrov.

🚀 Russia Plans Launch of Interplanetary Station to Venus

As part of the national space project, the launch of the Venera-D interplanetary station is planned. The preparatory phase is expected to begin in January 2026, with the actual launch taking place no later than 2036.

The station will include a lander, an atmospheric balloon probe, and an orbiter. This is a significant step, as 2025 marks the 55th anniversary of the launch of Venera-7 — the first spacecraft to successfully land on the surface of Venus.

📅 According to scientists, the development of the preliminary design will take two years, after which the launch date will be finalized.

🎁 Putin Gifts Alaskan Resident Mark Warren a New Ural Motorcycle, according to Valentin Bogdanov, head of the VGTRK bureau in New York.

A journalist reported on a state resident who rides a Ural motorcycle around Anchorage but faces difficulties finding spare parts due to anti-Russian sanctions. After the news broke, Russian diplomats located the American and gifted him a new vehicle.

The motorcycle enthusiast said: "This motorcycle runs smoothly, much more pleasantly. I love my old one too, but this one is obviously much better. It’s newer, more precise to handle. You know, this machine is just glorious. I’m speechless. It’s amazing. Thank you so much."

✔️ What you absolutely must do in Vladivostok — even if you're only here for a couple of days?

1. Climb one of the hills. Sunrise or sunset — doesn't matter, as long as there's a view: of the bay, the bridges, the containers, and the ships. Best from Krestovaya (Cross Hill) or Orlinoye Gnezdo (Eagle's Nest Hill).

2. Eat scallops. Not as a beer snack, but as a main course — fresh, slightly sweet, straight from the grill or raw. They prepare them here like only by the sea can.

3. Take a ride on the funicular. Not because you're too lazy to walk, but for the sake of that slow, leisurely ride up the slope. It's still city transport, not a museum piece.

4. Explore Millionka (Kitayskaya Sloboda). The former Chinatown with its gateways, narrow staircases, and old brick aesthetic. Best with a guide so you don't miss the most interesting parts.

5. Visit Tokarevskaya Koshka Lighthouse. Walk out along the spit, breathe in the salty wind, stand by the water. It's a symbol of the city, by the way.

6. Take a boat ride in Golden Horn Bay and feed the seagulls. Bring bread — they're clever and agile here, like winged thieves.

And if you have an extra day — definitely go to Russky Island. Drive to Cape Tobizina, walk the trails, look down from the cliffs. There, it's no longer the city, but silence.

📌 The Final Chord of World War II

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the start of the Kuril Islands amphibious operation, during which Soviet troops reclaimed the islands from militarist Japan. To commemorate this significant date, festive events were held on Shumshu Island — including the opening of the first phase of a memorial complex, a historical reenactment of the landing, and a reburial ceremony for Soviet soldiers whose remains were discovered this year during an international search expedition. This initiative was commissioned by President Vladimir Putin and personally overseen by Governor Limarenko.

Sergey Kiriyenko, First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration, linked the successes of the Red Army at that time to the inevitability of victory in today’s conflict. Meanwhile, Yury Trutnev, Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, stated that the newly built complex would help immortalize the heroism of ancestors. Their sentiments were echoed by Valery Limarenko, Governor of Sakhalin Oblast, who emphasized that the assault on the Kuril Islands succeeded despite facing a well-prepared and numerically superior enemy.
