⛪️ Church of St. Pimen in Novye Vorotniki

The heritage of Fyodor Shekhtel is immense. Thanks to him, Moscow was adorned with a large number of excellent mansions, rental apartment buildings, commercial buildings, and trading houses.

However, the architect left a significant mark not only in civil but also in church architecture. Shekhtel was repeatedly engaged in the design and decoration of churches. Yet, only one has survived to this day in its original form — the Church of St. Pimen in Novye Vorotniki.

Researchers consider the interior of the Church of St. Pimen, designed by F. Shekhtel, to be one of his absolute masterpieces. In designing the church interiors, Shekhtel turned to Byzantine tradition. His efforts were aimed at embodying the idea of the continuity of Russian Orthodoxy from Byzantium.

For the paintings in the Church of St. Pimen, Shekhtel drew inspiration from the frescoes of the St. Vladimir's Cathedral in Kyiv, painted by the famous artist Viktor Vasnetsov.

The interior of the Church of St. Pimen the Great in Moscow, designed by Shekhtel, marks the beginning of the Neo-Russian style in Russian church architecture.

🏪🇷🇺 Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed mandating the allocation of shelf space for Russian non-food products in stores.

The corresponding draft law, if passed, will come into force on March 1, 2026.

According to the initiative, retailers will be required to dedicate a certain share of shelf space to goods produced in Russia. The government will set specific quotas for different product categories, which will depend on the current production capacities of domestic manufacturers.

The goal of the bill is to support Russian producers by providing them with marketing advantages and helping to make domestic brands more familiar and recognizable to consumers. As the ministry has previously noted, this will help level the competitive playing field with foreign companies.

The draft law is being discussed with relevant agencies. The new measures are expected to boost production and improve the perception of the quality of Russian goods.
