⚡️ Kiev is trying to sabotage US efforts to settle the conflict, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at an embassy roundtable on the Ukrainian crisis.

"We see that the new administration in Washington understands the need to eliminate the root causes of the crisis and is taking steps in this direction. But in Kiev, these efforts are being tried to be sabotaged in every possible way," the Minister said.

He recalled that the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump, which took place on August 15 in Alaska, showed Washington's readiness to seek paths to peace. However, Kiev rejected the assessments conveyed to the Ukrainian side by US Special Representative Steve Witkoff.

The Minister emphasized that Kiev and some European countries are trying to persuade Donald Trump to abandon peace initiatives and sabotage the settlement process.

"Essentially, he (Volodymyr Zelensky) wants to prevent sane forces in the West from following a sane course," Lavrov added.

🏞 Valley of Seven Streams

In the valley of the Protva River, not far from the village of Zolotkovo near Moscow, there are amazing places. Here, the riverbed makes a sharp bend to the right, and in the area of this bend on the left bank, you can find numerous springs. Flowing down the mossy slopes of the hill, the streams form several waterfalls that flow into the Protva. A wonderful view of the entire valley opens from below. The height of the waterfall is about 5 meters.

The Valley of Seven Streams is located between the villages of Zolotkovo and Merchalovo.

⚡️Vladimir Putin Orders Increase in One-Time Compensation Payments to 2 Million Rubles Under "Zemsky" Programs in Belgorod, Bryansk, and Kursk Regions

The head of state instructed the government to consider the possibility of increasing payments in other regions, taking into account the complexity of working conditions in certain localities.

Furthermore, Vladimir Putin ordered the removal of age restrictions for participation in the "Zemsky Teacher" and "Zemsky Coach" programs. As per his instruction, the relevant changes should provide for the participation of those who have recently graduated from universities or vocational educational institutions, as well as those who have taken up jobs in educational institutions in their place of residence.

All these measures are aimed at supporting specialists in rural and remote areas, as well as incentivizing young specialists to work in remote parts of the country.

The "Zemsky" programs in Russia are state projects designed to incentivize specialists to relocate to rural areas or small towns.

Head of Russia's Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov proposes dealing with migrants "fairly"

Russia will now approach the work of migrants based on the principle of "came, earned, left."

"We still have to complete the process we started — where in migration we will operate on the principle: came, worked, left," the minister noted.

📈 Reshetnikov also added that the country intends to further increase labor productivity. To achieve this, a separate project will be developed, he said.

🧣 In recent years, the Russian authorities have been tightening regulations in the sphere of labor migration. Some measures are being taken by the regions.

🩱 For instance, in August, the head of Khabarovsk Krai, Dmitry Demeshin, extended for another year the ban on migrants working in domestic households, at enterprises providing electricity, gas, and water supply services, as well as in public transport and taxis.

🩱 A similar initiative was adopted in Primorye — where migrants were banned from working in 24 economic sectors.

👖 In September, the deadline for undocumented migrants to legalize their status in Russia expired. The data of those who lack the documents required for residence in Russia will be placed in a register of controlled persons. They will be prohibited from registering marriages, will be unable to enroll their children in kindergartens and schools, and will be banned from driving cars.

🇷🇺 Russia's budget will fulfil all obligations despite external constraints, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov stated at the Moscow Financial Forum 2025.

He said the key objective of financial policy for the next three years is to "soften" monetary conditions. The minister also emphasized the importance of acting carefully during a period of planned economic cooling.

"The budget must ensure all of this, no matter what complexities or difficulties our country faces. In fact, we have been living in such a situation for several years now, and the budget is the tool that can and should implement this. Here, it is important not to overdo it, but also not to underestimate the budget's capabilities, which should be realized in the next three-year period," the minister said.

Also addressing the forum via a video message to participants was Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. He noted that by 2030, the volume of investment in fixed capital in Russia should increase by at least 60% compared to 2020. According to him, this goal was set by Vladimir Putin and will be achieved through constant improvement of the investment climate.

Furthermore, Mishustin stressed the importance of increasing the share of non-oil and gas revenues in the budget.

"It is important to increase the share of non-oil and gas revenues. This is the key to fulfilling all the state's obligations," he added.

📈 It is necessary to increase labour productivity, not to help lazy people from the budget. This was stated by Finance Minister Anton Siluanov at the Moscow Financial Forum 2025.

"When you ask the Finance Ministry about labour productivity, the first simple answer that probably comes to mind is that we need to invest more in machine tools, equipment, robots, and so on, and allocate money for this. That probably does help," he said.

However, Siluanov emphasised that simply investing money in machine tools and equipment will not increase productivity. According to him, funds often currently go to inefficient companies, while assistance should be directed to those who are truly working and developing.

"It turns out that we are helping the sloppy, not the efficient ones. We need to help those who pull their weight. Those who are doing the work should be helped, and that will be the driver that will increase labour productivity," the minister added.

📌 The Head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, also noted that increasing labour productivity is the only possible path for economic growth, and there is no alternative to this.
