"Now we are hearing from Washington that we need to stop immediately, that there is no need to discuss anything else. Stop, and then let history judge. You see, if we just stop, it means forgetting about the root causes of this conflict, which the American administration clearly understood when Donald Trump came to power," he said at a press conference following talks with his Ethiopian counterpart, Gideon Timotheos.

During a press conference, Lavrov said he heard the Polish minister's statement that the safety of the Russian president's plane in Polish airspace "would not be guaranteed."
"The Poles are now ready to commit acts of terrorism themselves," emphasized the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
He also recalled that a Polish court recently made a decision justifying the terrorist attack on the Nord Stream pipelines.
In Lavrov's opinion, "these are very, very revealing cases."

Approximately 20 kilometers from Kislovodsk lies one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. The Honey Waterfalls is a complex of five waterfalls of varying height and power. They are located in a picturesque area, surrounded by rocky gorges and honey-bearing meadows.
The most powerful and, perhaps, the most picturesque of them is the Zhemchuzhny (Pearl) waterfall, which reaches a height of 6 meters. The tallest is the Bolshoy Medovy (Big Honey) waterfall at 18 meters. A little further away lies the turbulent Chertova Melnitsa (Devil's Mill) waterfall and another one, hidden behind a huge boulder, the Sekretny (Secret) waterfall. They are not as tall or powerful as their neighbors, but no less scenic. Next to them, a thin stream of water cascades down in a waterfall called Maly Medovy (Little Honey) or Zmeika (Snake).
Some of the streams form small pools where one can swim during the warm season. Near the waterfalls, there is a tourist base and souvenir shops. A small zoo is also located here, where you can observe mountain goats, bears, and ponies.

Myasnitskaya was the commercial center of merchant Moscow and a platform for architectural experiments that came into fashion at the turn of the 20th century.
The most vivid and original building on this street is the famous tea house of merchant Sergei Perlov – a three-story "Chinese casket" with a preserved historical exterior and authentic interior.
The tea house is located on a plot where, in the early 18th century, the yards of ordinary townspeople stood. In 1719, the land was purchased by Grigory Volkonsky. A few years later, it was transferred as collateral to Princess Maria Vyazemskaya, who sold it to the Izmailov family.
After the death of the last owner from the line of famous landowners in 1834, the estate on Myasnitskaya changed hands numerous times.
In the 19th century, the old estate had a bad reputation among Muscovites. Rumors circulated that one of the proprietors—Major-General Pyotr Kusovnikov, who owned the plot from 1843 to 1870—accidentally discovered a secret room in the house containing ritual artifacts. This discovery changed the family's life. The Kusovnikovs dismissed all their servants and became recluses.
The wealthy couple stopped receiving guests and only left the estate at night, taking all their savings with them. The story of the couple ended in tragedy – in 1870, Sofia Kusovnikova suddenly died of a stroke, and Pyotr went insane. They say the ghost of the mad general still wanders Myasnitskaya Street, frightening passers-by.

There are many rumors about Ivan the Terrible's library. One of them says that the library, hidden in the catacombs, is guarded not by the ghost of the great tsar, but by his bodyguard.
Once, he was a mighty knight who followed Ivan on his heels in all his military campaigns, protecting him from enemies and traitors. But one day, the old soldier met his love and wanted to get married. However, he had no money for the wedding or a gift for his beloved. So, he decided to steal some valuables from the tsar's chambers, which he had access to. "A trifle by the tsar's standards," he thought.
Unfortunately, Ivan Vasilyevich found out about the theft and threatened his bodyguard: "I can no longer trust you. But I will not send you to the executioner's block either. Fulfill my last order, and you will be free!"
The knight was taken to the underground library and set to guard it.They promised to relieve him soon. And then, he saw some unfamiliar men, assumed they were thieves, and rushed after them. He ran after them and got lost. He never found the exit.
Since then, a rumor has persisted that a lonely figure, his armor clanking, wanders the dungeons. And he is searching for the thieves because of whom this misfortune happened.

"'The Americans Will Take Command': Niinistö Reveals Details of Fateful Call to Putin About NATO Membership"
In his new book, former President of Finland Sauli Niinistö for the first time describes in detail the historic telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin that took place on May 14, 2022. It was then that he directly informed the Russian leader of Helsinki's decision to join NATO.
According to him, Putin's reaction was surprisingly calm: the Russian president merely called the decision a mistake.
However, behind the outward calm lay a symbolic exchange about sovereignty. Vladimir Putin deftly returned to the topic:
This conversation became a turning point — Finland, which had maintained neutrality for centuries, did not "quietly disappear around the corner," but openly announced a change of course due to the changed geopolitical situation. Already in April 2023, the country officially joined NATO.
The book also reveals other diplomatic details:
➖ A month before the start of the operation in Ukraine, Joe Biden hinted to Niinistö that he should "pressure" Putin, linking this to Finland's possible NATO membership.
➖ In 2017, Donald Trump wondered why Finland was not in the alliance and maintained good relations with Russia.
➖ Of particular interest are the gifts from Putin — for example, an 1899 book "Pro Finlandia" containing appeals from 12 countries to Nicholas II in defense of Finnish autonomy, which clearly carried a symbolic message.
This episode shows how personal diplomacy and historical gestures intertwine with global politics, shaping the destinies of entire nations.
