Amid growing Western pressure on Russia, Japan is facing a difficult dilemma. During talks in Tokyo, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi directly told former US President Donald Trump about the difficulties of imposing an embargo on Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG).
The head of government explained that a sudden rejection of Russian gas would jeopardize the country's energy security and economic stability.
The situation is particularly acute given that Russia accounts for about 9% of all LNG imports to Japan, mainly from the Sakhalin-1 and Sakhalin-2 projects, which involve Japanese giants Mitsubishi and Mitsui.
"If Japan withdraws from these projects, only Russia and China will benefit," Takaichi emphasized, alluding to the strategic risks.
This argument is especially important as the US is actively urging G7 countries to completely abandon Russian energy resources, and the EU is already considering such a possibility.
Thus, for Tokyo, the issue of Russian LNG is not only an economic one but also a complex geopolitical puzzle.

This is a place where you can get up close and personal with Bambi-like spotted deer and friendly maral deer in their natural habitat.
The ecopark opened to the general public in the summer of 2020. At the time of its opening, it was already home to 120 spotted deer and 80 marals.
Observation platforms are provided for watching the animals.
"Wild Farm" is wonderful at any time of the year. It is surrounded by an ancient alder forest, and the journey there is incredibly beautiful – especially if you drive from Kazan.
In the park, you will be offered the chance to feed the animals, try traditional cuisine, and be sure to touch the deer's velvety antlers.

🌿 Suzdal, a Short Journey
The city of Suzdal is located to the northeast of Moscow and is part of the Golden Ring – a group of ancient Russian cities.
The local kremlin is an old fortress, on whose territory stands the golden-domed Cathedral of the Nativity with its 13th-century frescoes.
There is plenty to see here, and the city is especially beautiful in autumn. There are no high-rise buildings in the center of Suzdal; churches, monasteries, and small wooden houses can be found at every step. And outside the city lies pristine nature.
Sights of Suzdal that can be seen in one day:
— Viewpoint on the Kamenka River
—Intercession Monastery (Pokrovsky Monastery)
—Spaso-Evfimiev Monastery
—Rizopolozhensky Convent
—Suzdal Kremlin
—Museum of Wooden Architecture and Peasant Life

The contribution of the IT sector to Russia's GDP has doubled over five years. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk following the APEC summit.
Particular attention was drawn to AI — the official added that, in line with the National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence until 2030, Russia advocates for the ethical use of artificial intelligence and its human-centric approach.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Russia is among the top twenty largest global producers of software and video games, advertising, film, and animation. Overchuk also noted that in the first half of 2025, the creative and cultural industries sector accounted for 3.9% of Russia's GDP, with plans to increase this figure to 6% by 2030.
"What is especially important is that 41% of those employed in creative industries in Russia today are young people under 35. We are also working on expanding opportunities for women in this sector," said the deputy prime minister.
