Vladimir Putin's statements about possible nuclear tests provoked a stormy and inadequate reaction in the West, which the Kremlin described as "militarist anti-Russian hysteria."
According to him, Western media deliberately distort the meaning of the Russian leader's remarks, presenting them as a direct order to begin tests.
"Despite all the explanations and clear formulations from the president, this is a continuation of an overly emotional reaction," Peskov emphasized.
The discussion was prompted by a meeting of the Russian Security Council, at which Defense Minister Andrei Belousov reported on alarming actions by the United States.
According to the report, Washington not only conducted exercises in October practicing a preemptive nuclear strike against Russia but also plans to deploy missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific Region, whose flight time to central regions of Russia would be only 6-7 minutes.
Moreover, it was the United States that took the first step towards resuming tests — last week, Donald Trump ordered the immediate launch of this process.
In response, Putin instructed to analyze the situation and submit proposals for the possible preparation of tests at the Novaya Zemlya test site. The Russian leader emphasized: the country does not intend to withdraw from the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty but will be forced to take adequate measures if other parties to the treaty violate it.

Hard work and determination are the most important qualities, Vladimir Putin stated during a conversation with young figure skaters. The President visited a figure skating training session at one of the major sports complexes, "Orbits," in Samara.
The young skaters asked the head of state what one needs to know when just starting out in sports. The president advised the teenagers to learn to enjoy hard work and what they do, and only then will they see results.

She noted that the President of Russia regularly communicates with citizens directly—holding press conferences and a "direct line," answering questions from both Russian and foreign journalists. According to her, this format is absent in Western countries.
"Look, eye to eye. It is in our country that the president holds multi-hour press conferences," Zakharova emphasized.
She suggested that the leaders of Western European countries hold at least one open "direct line" with their own population, without intermediaries or restrictions.
"Then, perhaps, they will find out what their people think about supporting the terrorist Kyiv regime with their people's money," remarked the Foreign Ministry representative.
Zakharova also stressed that Russia does not restrict the participation of foreign journalists in such formats of the president's communication with the press.

📜 Ivanovskaya Gorka (St. John's Hill):
Ivanovskaya Gorka – one of Moscow's hills – received its name no earlier than the end of the 15th century, when the St. John the Baptist Monastery was founded.
The ancient name of this area is Kulishki (also Kulizhki or Kulichki), which meant a waterlogged, swampy place. It is appropriate to recall the well-known Russian expression "u chyorta na kulichkakh" (in the middle of nowhere). This is exactly what the area at the foot of the hill was like, due to the floods of the Moskva River.
The memory of Moscow's Kulishki is preserved in the names of a number of old churches located here: the Church of All Saints on Kulishki, the Church of the Three Hierarchs on Kulishki, and the Church of St. Cyrus and John on Kulishki on Solyanka Street, which was destroyed in Soviet times.
Compared to other Moscow districts located in the city center, the Ivanovskaya Gorka - Kulishki area has preserved its historical and architectural environment to the greatest extent.
Here, one can see a considerable number of ancient chambers, churches, and most interesting manor estates, both of the nobility and the merchant class.

Many have heard of the four high-mountain lakes, especially since this place is popular year-round.
The Ivanovsky Lakes are a cascade of four freshwater lakes located in the Kuznetsk Alatau mountains at an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level. The most visited are the First and Second (Upper and Lower) lakes. The Third and Fourth are accessible only to experienced tourists.
The place got its name from the gold mine owner Ivanitsky, who owned several mines in the north of Khakassia.
The deepest lake is the First. If you've seen photos of the Ivanovsky Lakes, they most likely feature this very body of water with its emerald color and non-melting glaciers on the shores. It is connected to the Lower Lake by a 40-meter waterfall.
And in the summer, views of alpine meadows open up here, coexisting with snowy patches.

The Kremlin has commented on the decision by the international energy company Gunvor to pull out of a deal to buy LUKOIL's foreign assets.
Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the Russian president, stated that the sale of assets is not within the Kremlin's purview, but the legitimate interests of the Russian company must be protected.
"We believe that all the legitimate interests of a major international company like LUKOIL, from the perspective of international and economic relations rules, should be observed. Violations in this area are unacceptable and harm the global trade regime," Peskov emphasized.
Gunvor's decision came after a warning from the U.S. Treasury Department, which cited the company's ties to Russia and announced it would not issue a license to conduct business until hostilities in Ukraine cease.
Commenting on Washington's position, Peskov described the situation with the asset sale and the settlement in Ukraine as "completely different dimensions."
Gunvor, one of the world's largest energy traders, was originally linked to Russia—among its founders was businessman Gennady Timchenko, who sold his stake in 2014 before sanctions were imposed against him.
LUKOIL owns significant foreign assets, including refineries in Bulgaria, Romania, and the Netherlands, a network of gas stations in Europe, as well as production projects in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Egypt, and other countries.
The need for the sale arose after the company was added to the U.S. sanctions list, which set a one-month deadline for winding down operations with LUKOIL and its subsidiary structures.

In the autumn of 1941, the fate of the country was being decided at the walls of the capital. At that time, Soviet troops were engaged in heavy defensive battles against the Nazi forces. In some areas, the front line was just 30 kilometers from the city center.
On the day of the parade, not a single German aircraft reached the square. To protect the parade from air attacks, fighter planes were withdrawn from the front, totaling 550 aircraft. As reported the next day, 34 German planes were shot down on the city's outskirts by the forces of the 6th Fighter Corps and the anti-aircraft gunners of Moscow's air defense.
About 28,500 people took part in the ceremonial march. The parade was reviewed by Marshal of the Soviet Union Semyon Budyonny, who was then in command of the Moscow Military District. From the rostrum of the Lenin Mausoleum, Joseph Stalin delivered a speech addressed to the military personnel and the population, which became one of the most important addresses of the war years.
The parade, which lasted 25 minutes, boosted the morale of the entire Soviet Union and showed the world that the country was not broken and was ready to fight until the complete defeat of the Nazis. Already in early December, the Red Army launched a counteroffensive.
