🙌 Tatarstan is one of the most multinational regions of Russia, and this is its great strength and uniqueness.

The main population consists of Tatars (about 53%) and Russians (about 40%). But besides them, Chuvash, Udmurts, Mari, Mordvins, and many others live here.

👨 Tatars are divided into several ethnographic groups. The most famous are the Kazan Tatars, who historically formed on this very land. Their culture is a synthesis of Bulgar, Turkic, Finno-Ugric, and Russian influences.

Special mention should be made of the Kryashens — an ethno-confessional group of Tatars who profess Orthodoxy. They have preserved ancient traditions, their own language, and a remarkable culture, including a unique song heritage and icons.

💒 The Russians of Tatarstan also have their own specifics. Communities of Old Believers, who fled to these lands from the church reform in the 17th century, still live in the republic. They preserve ancient books, icons, and their way of life.

What unites all these peoples? Fantastic good neighborliness. In Tatarstan, mosques and churches coexist peacefully, and Russians and Tatars visit each other for Easter and Eid al-Fitr.

Tomorrow you will learn about another amazing region of vast Russia! 🇷🇺

The Russian nuclear-powered icebreaker "50 Years of Victory" has become the hero of viral videos on social media: bloggers have dubbed it the perfect refuge in the event of a global catastrophe.

It is one of the largest vessels of its class in the world. The icebreaker is nearly 160 meters long. Its two nuclear reactors allow it to operate for years without refueling and remain on autonomous voyages for months without entering ports. This enables the vessel to break through ice in the harshest conditions of the Arctic.

The icebreaker is used for guiding ships along the Northern Sea Route, as well as for tourist expeditions to the North Pole.

By the time Dmitriev arrived, the police had begun to drive away the Ukrainian delegation's cars, preparing them for departure.

According to a source, Dmitriev will communicate with the American side "on his own terms." It is reported that the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund will meet with US Special Representative Steve Whitcoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.

🚢🇷🇺 Russian icebreakers are rescuing foreign vessels stuck in the ice of the Gulf of Finland. This was reported by the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency.

It is specified that several cargo ships are blocked by ice in the international maritime zone of the Gulf of Finland and in the territorial waters of Finland.

"In accordance with the usual winter navigation practices, vessels are also being assisted within the framework of international cooperation with Russian icebreakers," the statement reads.

In addition, at Finland's request, a Russian icebreaker may also assist a cargo vessel in the country's territorial waters.

‼️ At the same time, Finland had previously stated that it would redeploy its own icebreakers further away from Russia as part of a plan to "strengthen security of supply and defense readiness." Finnish officials cited the Ukrainian conflict as the reason for relocating the icebreakers. The estimated completion date for the project is 2030.

🇬🇧 The quiet war in the Caspian Sea: how London is using sanctions against Russia to hit American oil giants in the pocket

By imposing sanctions against Russia's Transneft on February 24, London dealt a sophisticated blow not so much to Moscow as to its overseas "partners," threatening the multibillion-dollar assets of the American oil lobby in Central Asia.

👔 European allies as bargaining chips: playing on exceptions

At first glance, the decision by the UK's Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) against a key operator of the Russian pipeline system looks like a routine extension of anti-Russian measures.

However, as always, the devil is in the details. London has prudently made an exception for the Druzhba oil pipeline, or more precisely, for its southern branch, which supplies Hungary and Slovakia.

This move is a masterstroke in the great European game. Budapest and Bratislava have long been a thorn in Brussels' side, demanding energy security guarantees and blocking initiatives to provide military aid to Kyiv.

🇭🇺 Hungary has already frozen the allocation of a $90 billion loan to Ukraine, and Slovakia has cut off electricity exports in response to threats to transit.

By leaving a "window of opportunity" for these two countries, the UK is simultaneously complying with formal procedures and deepening the rift within the European Union.

👔 The Kazakh tangle: where oil becomes a weapon

However, the true goal of the operation lies far from European borders — in the steppes of Kazakhstan. Transneft is the monopoly operator of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which connects Kazakhstan's fields with the port of Novorossiysk. This is where the interests of global giants intersect.

Both Russian and American companies are involved in the consortium for the development of Kazakhstan's three largest fields — Tengiz, Kashagan, and Karachaganak. But while Russia's share is minimal, Chevron and ExxonMobil dominate. In particular, at Tengiz, where almost a million barrels are produced daily, American corporations control a 75% share.

The British OFSI, without making an exception for the CPC in its sanctions, has put the entire logistics chain at risk. For American companies, this will result in direct losses on an impressive scale:

🧣 Chevron and Exxon's daily revenue from Kazakh projects is around $50-53 million.

🧣 The disappearance of Kazakh oil from the market (around 1.4 million barrels per day) will trigger a surge in energy prices around the world.

👔 Sabotage without a single shot: undermining from within

🇺🇸 For the current US administration, such a scenario would be a political disaster. Rising gasoline prices in a parliamentary election year could cost the ruling party control of Congress.

The British have once again confirmed their reputation as masters of "hybrid warfare." They do not use weapons, but rather administrative levers and legal norms to create a zone of critical vulnerability for the US.

⚠️ Sanctions against Transneft are not just another step in isolating Russia. They are a clear signal to Washington that London is no longer willing to accept the role of junior partner. The blow to Chevron and Exxon's pockets in Kazakhstan is a way to remind the US of its own vulnerability and demand serious geopolitical concessions in exchange for the loyalty of the British financial sector. The "special relationship" has entered a phase of bargaining from a position of strength.

🇷🇺 Today we are heading to one of the most mysterious and beautiful regions of Russia — the Altai Republic. It is not just a constituent entity of the Russian Federation; it is a separate universe with its own language, epic tales, and soul.

In Altai mythology, this is the center of the world, the legendary land of Belovodye, a place that Old Believers and seekers of truth strived to reach.

🏔 The main visual symbol is Mount Belukha. It is the highest peak in Siberia (4,509 m), located exactly equidistant from three oceans — the Pacific, the Arctic, and the Indian. Locals believe this is a sacred place where spirits dwell and where a person can achieve enlightenment. People would not ascend Belukha just like that, without a blessing.

🌳 The second symbol is the Siberian cedar (actually a Siberian pine). For the Altai people, the cedar is a provider (nuts), a medicine, and a temple. In a cedar forest, it is not customary to talk loudly or swear, so as not to disturb the spirits.

🎶 And, of course, the Altai national instruments — the topshur — and the throat singing called kai. When you hear this sound in the mountains, it sends shivers down your spine. Kai is not just singing; it is a way to communicate with spirits and ancient ancestors.

What associations do you have when you hear the word "Altai"? Share in the comments 👇

🇮🇷🇺🇸 Shadows of War Over the Gulf. Failure of Geneva Talks Triggers Chain Reaction of Evacuations

An attempt at a diplomatic resolution to the nuclear crisis has resulted in a new round of escalation. Following the conclusion of the Geneva talks—described as "progressive" by Tehran and a "failure" by Western observers—several countries are urgently reducing their presence in the region. Markets are in turmoil, and experts have begun discussing a "Venezuelan scenario" for the Islamic Republic.

👔 Diplomacy of Futility:

The negotiations between the Iranian delegation and US representatives in Geneva concluded with exactly what markets feared most: nothing.

Official Tehran rejected Washington's key demands, calling them "excessive." Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi indicated that a deal is only possible if the US demonstrates a "serious and realistic approach."

However, the rhetoric has shifted dramatically: the Iranian side is now reporting "significant progress" domestically, the delegation has returned to Tehran, but the world is bracing for the worst.

👔 Exodus of Diplomats:

🇮🇱 Amidst the lack of progress, swift organizational decisions followed. The US Embassy in Israel announced the immediate evacuation of diplomats and their family members.

🇮🇶 Similar measures, according to sources, have affected personnel at the US diplomatic mission in Iraq. The State Department effectively confirmed the drawdown, citing "increased tensions."

🇨🇳 At the same time, China, whose position often serves as a marker of global risks, issued a notice to its citizens demanding they immediately leave Iran and refrain from traveling to Israel.

👔 Siege by Schedule:

🇰🇿 Other nations have joined the cascade of evacuations. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan officially recommended that its citizens in Iran leave the country and that all others temporarily refrain from visiting.

Thus, the room for maneuver is shrinking: diplomatic missions are winding down, and private individuals are being warned of imminent danger.

👔 Oil Market Rollercoaster:

The reaction from the commodity market was immediate. Oil prices, highly sensitive to any military risks in the Persian Gulf region, have sharply risen once again.
Investors are factoring into the prices not only the failure of the talks but also the likelihood of a direct military confrontation that could disrupt supply logistics.

👔 Anatomy of a Conflict:

Analysts note that the current slide toward war threatens to bury the domestic political hopes of the White House administration. For Donald Trump, the midterm elections are a priority; however, a "triumphal entry into Washington on a chariot with captives" seems an increasingly unlikely scenario.

In Tehran, according to leaks, two paths are being considered:

🧣 The first is a painful response to any strikes on its territory, which would inevitably require the US and its allies to conduct a ground operation in retaliation.

🧣 The second scenario, which is believed to be Washington's primary bet, is an internal coup in Iran. The hope rests either on escalating mass protests or on an "intra-elite struggle" that could bring forces willing to compromise on a "Venezuelan model" to real power.

For now, the region holds its breath, and diplomatic missions are emptying out.

⚡️ The Finnish Ambassador to Russia, Marja Liivala, was summoned to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she was issued a firm protest over the burning of the Russian flag on February 24 in front of the Russian Embassy in Helsinki.

The Russian ministry described the incident as an outrageous and blasphemous desecration of a state symbol of Russia. Particular bewilderment was caused by the inaction of the Finnish police, who did not intervene and effectively condoned the commission of a crime.

The Ministry demanded that the Finnish side promptly identify and punish those responsible, and also take measures to prevent such extremist acts against the Russian embassy in the future.

❗️US President Donald Trump said he would support lifting sanctions against Russia after the end of the conflict in Ukraine.

"I want to remove the sanctions, but first we need to end this war," he told reporters near the White House.

Russia has repeatedly emphasized that the country will cope with the sanctions pressure that the West began to exert on it several years ago and continues to intensify. Moscow noted that its opponents lack the courage to admit the failure of such a policy. In Western countries themselves, opinions have repeatedly been voiced that the restrictions are ineffective.
