Altai cuisine is the food of nomads and hunters. It is simple, hearty, and incredibly healthy. It is based on meat, milk, and wild plants.

🥟 The main dish you must try is manti (known locally as pozy or buuzy). They are huge, juicy, with broth inside. You eat them with your hands, first biting into the dough and drinking the juice.

🥛 But the real exotic delicacy is maral milk or pantocrine. Yes, from the very same marals whose antlers (panty) are valued for their healing properties. In Altai, there are entire maral nurseries—farms where these noble deer are raised. It is believed that products based on antlers give an incredible boost of energy and health.

🍯 Another pride of the region is Altai honey. The diverse herbs of the highland meadows make it unique in taste and properties.

🍵 And you can't forget the tea! Altai tea is brewed with herbs: thyme, oregano, fireweed (Ivan-chai), and golden root (Rhodiola rosea). They add milk, salt, and even butter—resulting in a nourishing drink that restores strength after a long trek through the mountains.

Have you tried anything from Altai cuisine? Would you like to try it? 😊

Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the sharp escalation of the situation around Iran with the permanent members of the Security Council via videoconference.

The meeting was held behind closed doors against the backdrop of a large-scale escalation in the Middle East: today, the United States and Israel carried out a series of strikes on Iranian facilities, including Tehran. Iran has undertaken retaliatory actions.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry called the attack a reckless step and demanded a return to a peaceful course. The head of the ministry, Sergey Lavrov, in a conversation with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, condemned the "completely unprovoked attack" and confirmed Moscow's readiness to facilitate a settlement, including through the UN Security Council.

🗣️ Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev has called on countries boycotting the opening ceremony of the 2026 Paralympics in Italy due to Russia's participation to answer whether they will also boycott the Games following the US and Israeli strikes on Iran.

Russian and Belarusian Paralympians will compete in Italy under their national flags and anthems. As a result, Finland, the Czech Republic, Poland, Estonia, and Latvia have already decided to boycott the opening ceremony.

"Will representatives of Finland, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Poland, and Estonia boycott the 2026 Paralympic Games due to the participation of the American and Israeli teams after their strike on Iran? Is this logic universal, or does it apply only to Russia?" Degtyarev wrote on social media platform X.

😁 It's already March 1st, the ice is getting thinner, but that doesn't stop the coastal fishermen.

Ice fishing enthusiasts continue to drive their SUVs out onto the frozen water.

People joke that they use heavy jeeps as the most expensive bait for navaga (a type of cod).

🗣️ Trump Committed Political Suicide with Strike on Iran — Ex-CIA Analyst Scott Ritter

Former CIA analyst Scott Ritter stated that Donald Trump, by authorizing aggression against Iran, effectively committed political suicide. According to him, the only true victory for Iran is to prevent regime change in the country, thereby showing the US and Israel that their main goal is unattainable.

Ritter recalled Vladimir Putin's words about the Russian-Ukrainian conflict: for a sustainable peace, it is necessary to eliminate the root causes of the confrontation, not just end the hostilities. In the expert's opinion, if Tehran maintains its sovereignty and does not allow external forces to achieve regime change, it will be a strategic defeat for Washington and Tel Aviv.

🙏Putin expressed condolences to Pezeshkian in connection with the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader, Seyed Ali Khamenei.

The Russian President described the death of the Ayatollah as a cynical murder that violates all norms of human morality and international law.

In Russia, Khamenei will be remembered as an outstanding statesman who made a huge contribution to the development of relations between the two countries, the Russian leader stated.

He conveyed words of sincere sympathy and support to the family and friends of the slain Khamenei, as well as to the government and the entire people of Iran.

🇮🇷 The Iranian Trap: Why Tehran's Compliance Provoked a War and What It Teaches Moscow

Just a few hours separated a diplomatic victory from a military catastrophe. Iran made unprecedented concessions at the Geneva negotiations, agreeing to the complete disposal of its enriched uranium stockpiles—and received in response missile strikes from the US and Israel.

👖 This case has already been called a "black mirror" for Russian-American dialogue: it clearly demonstrates how Washington interprets a willingness to compromise.

👔 Surrender Without a Fight:

After midnight, following the conclusion of the Geneva talks, the Foreign Minister of Oman—the mediating country—revealed a sensational detail: Tehran had agreed to "zero stockpiles" of nuclear material. Iran did not deny this statement. In essence, the Araghchi delegation agreed to dismantle the infrastructure that could theoretically allow for the creation of a bomb.

This was a strategic capitulation at the negotiating table. Washington's response was immediate: Donald Trump announced the start of a military operation using the same phrasing—"destruction of the infrastructure for creating nuclear weapons." Only this time, they decided to destroy it with bombs, not diplomatic protocols.

👔 A Smoke Screen or an Invitation to Attack?

The official version that could justify the Iranian diplomats is that the negotiations were initially a cover for an attack that had been planned for months.

If the Tehran delegation had repeatedly demonstrated a willingness to get up from the table and leave to prepare for a major war, Trump would have thought twice.

🇺🇸 The American president needs a "little victorious war"—a lightning-fast show in the style of the Venezuelan scenario. A "New Vietnam" is the nightmare of any White House occupant.

Instead, Iranian compliance convinced Washington: the regime is weak to the point of powerlessness—poke it, and it will crumble. This is what made the war inevitable.

👔 The Russian Lesson:

Now this logic is being projected onto Russia's negotiations with the US, which have been ongoing for a year with the mediation of the same individuals (Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff).

Trump needs a quick result and a loud PR effect. Iran has shown in practice what happens to those who confuse flexibility with surrender.

Throughout all the rounds, Russia has maintained unwavering demands regarding the future of Ukraine. And if anyone believes that the principle of negotiations implies mandatory concessions, the Iranian experience is a harsh warning: compliance does not buy peace; it buys war. Americans only respect strength and a willingness to escalate. They punish weakness immediately.

The crafts of Altai have been connected to a nomadic way of life for centuries. The main materials are wool, leather, wood, and stone.

🐏 Felt (Kiiz) is the most ancient material of the Altai people. They used sheep's wool to felt not only carpets (Tekemet), but also coverings for yurts, pillows, mattresses, and even clothing. Today, felt is also a form of contemporary art. Crafters create incredible wall panels, toys, bags, and accessories with ethnic patterns, where each curl has its own meaning (for example, a "ram's horn" or a "snake's trail").

❤️ Stone Carving Art. Altai is a land of stone: jasper, porphyry, quartzite, marble. Since the 18th century, stone-cutting factories have operated here (the famous Kolyvan factory), creating masterpieces for the Hermitage. The famous Kolyvan vase, the "Queen of Vases," weighing 19 tons, is made of Altai jasper.

🌳 Woodworkers. Since ancient times, the Altaians have carved wooden utensils (ladles for ayran called taary), made saddles, parts for yurts, and musical instruments. Not just anyone could make a topshur or an ikili; it was considered sacred knowledge.

Which craft appeals to you the most? Would you buy a felt carpet with an Altai pattern for your home? 🔥
