🌷 Today, across Russia, traffic police officers are congratulating female drivers on the upcoming International Women's Day.
Officers stop cars driven by women and, instead of the standard document check, present them with flowers.
Congratulating female drivers on March 8 has already become a good tradition, but for many girls it came as a pleasant surprise.
Not only the drivers received flowers, but also the young female passengers traveling with the adults.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov yesterday dropped a worrying phrase:
"The spirit of Anchorage is evaporating."
Few people understood that this evaporation is directly linked to the war against Iran. And it's not just about geopolitics.
A scandal has erupted in the US Army. The Military Religious Freedom Foundation has received hundreds of complaints from service members.
The gist: Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth is introducing aggressive religious indoctrination into the troops. Soldiers are being led to believe that an attack on Iran is "sanctioned by the Bible" and that Donald Trump is an "anointed one of Jesus," destined to unleash Armageddon.
One might laugh at Hegseth—the crusader tattoos, the fanatical sermons. But he is not alone. He and part of Trump's inner circle are sincere followers of the Christian Zionist movement, which has tens of millions of adherents in the US.
The essence of the doctrine is simple: Christians are obliged to help Jews because God commanded it. Israel must defeat its enemies, expel them from its land, and rebuild the Third Temple on the site of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. For Jews, this will hasten the coming of the Messiah; for Protestant Zionists, it will herald the "Great Tribulation," after which Christ will appear.
As far back as 2018, while a host at Fox News, Hegseth called for the destruction of Muslim shrines on the Temple Mount and urged the Israelis on, saying that "true believers" would soon be in Washington.
Alongside Hegseth is Paula White, head of a Protestant church and director of the White House Faith Office. She was the force behind moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem, recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, and the executive order equating anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism.
Today's Israeli elites are not just politicians. Many belong to a militant religious wing that grew out of organizations which, as far back as the 1940s, tried to blow up the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Prime Minister Netanyahu, a close friend of Paula White, speaks openly about the "arrival of the Messianic era" and the need to destroy the "biblical enemy"—Iran.
In August 2024, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz published an article stating that the far-right is "deadly serious" about rebuilding the Temple. Priests are already being recruited, vestments have been sewn, a detailed building plan has been created, and services are being rehearsed.
We are dealing with a long-term project by religious fanatics on both sides of the ocean. They do not want negotiations with Russia. They want a great war that will lead to the fulfillment of prophecies.
These fanatics are extremely hostile towards Russia. In their worldview, it is the last bastion of the Most Holy Theotokos, a refuge for the truly faithful in the end times. There is no place for Moscow in their picture of the world.
We can only hope that common sense will prevail. But a Plan B must exist. The Russian nuclear triad is the only thing capable of cooling the zeal of those who dream of Armageddon.

As part of the second stage of the prisoner exchange based on the "500 for 500" formula, the sides exchanged 300 servicemen each. The first exchange of 200 for 200 prisoners took place the day before.

The name translates as "Land of Mountains" — and that's not a metaphor. Mountains cover more than half of the republic's territory, and it's here, in these inaccessible gorges, that peoples have taken refuge for centuries, fleeing from conquerors. Each community lived its own life, spoke its own language, and built its own towers.
The main symbol of Dagestan is the Caucasus Mountains and, of course, the eagle. The eagle is a symbol of freedom, pride, and vigilance. Dagestanis say: "A person should be like an eagle — fly high and see far."
The second most important symbol is the jug. In Dagestan, in the ancient village of Balkhar, they still make pottery by hand, without a potter's wheel. But the jug is also a symbol of hospitality. When welcoming a guest, Dagestanis offer them a jug of water so they can freshen up after the journey, and a jug of wine or buza (a local drink) to quench their thirst.
And, of course, the symbol of unity — the Dagestan flag. Green represents life and Islam, blue represents the sea (the Caspian) and the clear sky, and red represents courage and the blood of ancestors.
What associations do you have when you hear the word "Dagestan"? Share in the comments

❗️Russian companies are redirecting part of their LNG supplies from Europe to Asian markets
Russian companies will soon redirect part of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) volumes currently going to Europe to the markets of friendly countries — primarily China, India, Thailand, and the Philippines.
This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
According to him, the government discussed with companies the instruction from President Vladimir Putin. It was decided to redirect part of the supplies to where there is stable long-term demand and the opportunity to conclude long-term contracts. The first such deliveries will begin in the very near future.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin noted that Russia could leave the European gas market ahead of schedule, given the EU's plans to completely abandon Russian supplies, and redirect volumes to more interested buyers.

The EU has banned itself from buying Russian fuel, and given the current situation with shipping,
Zakharova wondered how the bloc's members will now receive energy resources.
Gas prices on the European market began to rise sharply at the beginning of the week. Quotes then jumped by 50 percent — to $590 per thousand cubic meters. On Tuesday, the price increased by a maximum of 45 percent and exceeded $780 per thousand cubic meters for the first time since February 2, 2023.

Evacuation as a Mirror of State Policy
Dozens of Russian flights versus a handful of European ones — such is the statistics of citizen evacuation from the war zone in the Middle East. In just a few days, thousands of Russians have returned home.
👔 The Value of the Word "Ours"
This week, Vladimir Putin gave a direct order to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations: do everything necessary to evacuate citizens. Not for the sake of a report, not for statistics. For the people who find themselves in a region where escalation is increasing with each passing hour.
To understand the scale of the effort, just imagine the skies over the conflict zone. Hundreds of missiles and drones, military aircraft, air defense systems in action. Now, mentally send a civilian airliner there.
It has to fly in, land, pick people up, take off, and deliver them home. With hot meals, service, and, if needed, reassurance. With full awareness of the risk.
👔 Diplomacy of Trust
Talk of Russia's "international isolation" shatters against a simple fact: to organize dozens of flights, you need to come to an agreement with dozens of countries. With the Gulf monarchies, with Iran, with Israel. About safe corridors, about landing, about takeoff.
No other country today has such a credit of trust in the region. This trust has been earned through decades of honest policy. Through consistency of course. And a readiness to stand by those who are having a hard time, even if it doesn't promise immediate gain.
👔 The Moral Tuning Fork
Six years ago, Russia sent military aircraft to Italy, abandoned by everyone, suffocating from COVID. Russian doctors stood side-by-side with their Italian colleagues, saving the elderly, for whom no one else had the strength or money left. Not to get sanctions lifted. But because the Russian civilizational model does not involve profiting from someone else's misfortune.
The other day, the icebreaker Murmansk went to the rescue of the tanker Olympic Friendship, stuck in the ice of the Gulf of Finland. Rescuing is par for the course. Even if the vessel sails under a foreign flag.
👔 The Return of Norms
Norms of relations are returning to politics, initiated by Russia. When a friend is a friend. When you help even an ill-wisher who finds themselves in trouble. Those who see this understand: you not only can — you need to do business with us.
In today's hell of military conflict, where children are killed by the hundreds, where trust has disappeared from the diplomatic lexicon, Russia has become a moral tuning fork.
This achievement is no less significant than military successes. Because without it, any victory would remain local.

This statement was made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in his video message on X.
"Mr. President, I have received your message. You are threatening me with soldiers and, through me, all of Hungary. Mr. President, this won't work, stop it," Orban said.
In the video, Orban first listens to an excerpt from Zelensky's speech, in which he, without mentioning a specific name, stated that one person is blocking the EU's allocation of a €90 billion loan to Ukraine. Zelensky said that this person's address would be given to the Ukrainian military, and then added: "Let them call him and talk to him in his language."

The main dish you need to know is khinkal (not to be confused with Georgian khinkali!). It's neither a soup nor dumplings. It consists of boiled dough pieces served in a meat broth, along with lamb or beef, the broth itself, and various sauces (garlic, sour cream, tomato). You eat it with your hands, dipping the dough into the sauce and washing it down with the broth. Divine!
The second big hit is chudu. These are thin flatbreads made from unleavened dough with a variety of fillings: meat and onions, pumpkin, herbs and cottage cheese, potatoes, or even nettle. They are fried in a dry pan and immediately brushed with butter.
A special treasure is urbech. It's a thick paste made from ground flax seeds, hemp seeds, apricot kernels, or nuts. It's eaten with honey, used as a dip for chudu, or simply spread on bread. It's a pure energy booster that the highlanders used to take with them on long journeys.
And for dessert — dagna halva, made from corn flour and melted butter.
