CONFIRMED: Pakistan used Chinese long-range air-to-air missile PL-15E against India.

The PL-15 has a range of 200-300 km for the domestic version and about 145 km for the export variant (PL-15E) used by Pakistan.

It reaches speeds over Mach 5, using a dual-pulsed solid-propellant rocket motor and features advanced guidance with an active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar seeker and mid-course datalink support.

The PL-15 is a cutting-edge missile that significantly boosts Pakistan’s beyond-visual-range air combat capability.

At least two aircraft reportedly went down in India and Indian-controlled Kashmir, according to officials, local news, and witnesses.

One Indian official confirmed the crash of three aircraft but said the reasons were unclear.

Two other security officials confirmed Indian aircraft losses but declined to provide details.
