NEW: China will supply the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) with its Shenyang FC-31 ‘Gyrfalcon’ multirole stealth fighter aircraft, a senior Pakistani government official told Janes.

The FC-31 aircraft will arrive within months, and PAF pilots are training in China to fly it. The official didn’t disclose the deal’s terms, including the signing date.

In May, another Pakistan official said the procured FC-31 will be equipped with China’s PL-17 air-to-air missile (AAM), with a range of about 400 km.

Pakistani officials haven’t confirmed the number of platforms to be supplied, though Janes reported talks to acquire 30-40 aircraft.

The FC-31 will likely be Pakistan’s first major Chinese military platform after its 7-10 May conflict with India.

NEW: The United States believes that Ukraine's drone strike over the weekend damaged up to 20 Russian warplanes and destroyed approximately 10 of them, according to two US officials who spoke to Reuters.

This assessment is about half the number claimed by Ukrainian officials.

Still, US officials characterized the attack as highly significant. One official warned that it could drive Moscow to a far more severe negotiating position in the US-brokered talks to end the war.

U.S. Diverts Ukraine-Bound Anti-Drone Tech to Middle East

Trump administration redirected advanced anti-drone fuzes—originally meant for Ukraine—to U.S. forces in the Middle East.

The fuzes, part of the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System, were designed to counter drone attacks at a lower cost than air-to-air missiles.

They were initially procured by the Biden administration to defend Ukraine against Russia’s massive drone campaign, which has involved over 20,000 drones in 2025 alone.

Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth called the redirection “urgent” and notified Congress. He has also paused some U.S. military aid to Ukraine since January.

Ukrainian officials warn that delays in air defense support leave them more exposed, especially after a June 1 swarm of 472 Russian drones.

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) arrested a National Guard assault brigade soldier accused of spying for Russian intelligence.

While serving as a platoon commander, he allegedly shared coordinates of HQs, training centers, and reserve positions of his unit.
