Intercepting Iranian missile barrages—over 400 so far—requires systems like David’s Sling and Arrow, costing up to $4 million per shot. Estimates suggest missile defense alone may run between tens of millions to $200 million daily.

Offensive operations are also costly. F-35 jets cost about $10,000 per hour to operate, and guided munitions further inflate the bill. Total costs for a one-month conflict could hit $12 billion, according to Israel’s Aaron Institute for Economic Policy.

Damage to civilian infrastructure is another major cost. Hundreds of buildings have been hit, with reconstruction expected to exceed $400 million. Over 5,000 people have been displaced and are being housed at government expense.

Despite soaring military spending and a temporary economic slowdown, markets remain optimistic, and economists don't predict a recession—yet. But the longer the war lasts, the heavier the financial toll.
