NEW: Thailand reported that the number of civilians evacuated from its border with Cambodia climbed to 138,000 on Friday, as deadly cross-border strikes between the two countries continued.

NEW: Cambodia launched BM-21 rocket attacks on Thailand's Surin and Ubon Ratchathani provinces, killing at least 12 people, including civilians and a soldier, and injuring dozens. In response, the Thai Air Force carried out F-16 strikes on Cambodian military targets.

Ukraine reported shooting down 54 of the 61 Russian drones launched overnight.

A BM-21 belonging to the Cambodian army was destroyed during Thai army airstrikes yesterday. The Thai army had claimed that these batteries were targeting civilians along the border.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy plans to ask European allies to help finance improved salaries for troops resisting Russia’s invasion, in a bid to ease growing shortages of recruits.

“Previously, Europeans refused to provide funding for the salaries of our military personnel, only for weapons. Our service members themselves can be the weapon that protects everyone,” Zelensky said.
