Russia bans fuel exports until year-end as Ukrainian drone strikes hit refineries and pumping stations, causing severe gasoline and diesel shortages across Russia and occupied areas.

Germany has effectively frozen all new arms export approvals for Israel since August 8, after Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced a partial halt on weapons “clearly usable in Gaza.”
