It's vital, especially for trade unionists, to grasp that the issue isn't solely the amount of wages; rather, it's the very structure of the wage system that perpetuates worker suppression.
Engaging in continual battles for incremental wage hikes may provide temporary financial relief, but it fails to address the underlying problem.
Genuine emancipation from the shackles of oppression demands a concerted effort to dismantle the entire system and pave the path towards a society rooted in a planned economy, where workers are empowered and resources are allocated for the collective benefit of all.

About the Middle Aged Revolutionary

Our comrade Rick, who once toiled as a docker himself, is able to speak from firsthand experience about the relentless labor undertaken by these seafarers, all for a wage that barely sustains them, while the CEO luxuriates with a half-million quid in earnings.
However, the issue transcends mere monetary compensation; it delves into the deep-seated flaws within the wage structure itself, which systematically undermines the welfare of the working class, perpetuating a cycle of exploitation and inequality

On this day, 8 May 1974, in India, the national railway strike started, involving 1.7 million workers, demanding higher wages and shorter working hours.
The strike had begun spontaneously on May 2 and spread across the country.
The government of Indira Gandhi set about brutally repressing the strike. They arrested 50,000 workers, evicted 30,000 families from their homes, and fired 50,000 workers from their jobs.
The opposition leadership refused to call for solidarity strikes in solidarity with the rail workers, and eventually, by May 27, the workers were forced to call off the strike and return to work.
1 million strikers were then penalised by being treated as new recruits, and having their previous years of service, leave and pensions disregarded. Although this measure was later overturned after 1977 when the Indian National Congress was voted out of power.

It's not surprising, and it's likely the right decision for the cricketer to withdraw from the Workers' Party of Britain. Recent interviews revealed that he didn't fully grasp the policies he was advocating. Essentially, he was a victim of opportunism, his fame being leveraged rather than his genuine understanding valued.

The Conservatives are the party of the ruling class, and it's entirely justified to despise them, as they don't serve our interests. Their sole aim is to maintain the bourgeoisie's dominance.
Similarly, the Labour Party also aligns with the ruling class, albeit in a different manner. Their role is to steer the working class away from revolution and towards bourgeois parliamentarism.
They don't genuinely represent us, as their actions lack genuine intent. Past reforms are often cited, but they're typically superficial, aimed at pacifying the populace or creating the illusion of advocacy.
This status quo is unlikely to change. Even if the Labour Party were to vanish from the ballot paper, any replacement would likely be complicit in the existing system of control.
Real change won't originate from the ballot box but from the collective action of the masses.
