It was only seat anywhere in the country where the RCP stood a candidate, in a move clearly intended to split the leftist vote and deliver a Labour MP to the constituency, a Labour MP who then went on to vote for the removal of the winter fuel allowance for pensioners.

Report of KFA UK Liverpool Meeting “Defend People’s Korea 07.11.2024.
The Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) held a very successful meeting in Liverpool on the 7th of November on the theme of “ Defending People’s Korea from Imperialist Threats and Lies “ .The meeting was held in the Casa Bar , Liverpool at 1900 hours . It was attended by local KFA UK members as well members of the Class Consciousness Project , the Communist Party of Great Britain Marxist -Leninist , New Communist Party , Workers Party of Britain and the wider anti-imperialist and progressive movement .
A local representative of KFA UK opened the meeting pointing out that
“US Imperialist Aggression And Hostility Towards The DPRK Continues To Intensify With An Escalation Of Lies And Threats.
A New Propaganda Offensive Has Been Unleashed To Justify Us Military Aggression.
In This New Cold War The DPRK Is Portrayed As The Aggressor Described As, 'a Rogue State', Part Of An 'axis Of Evil' , ‘a Pariah’ , ‘a Communist Tyranny’ And A Threat To World Peace And Humanity. Relations With Russia And Iran Are Extensively Criticized And Condemned.
For Over 6 Decades The DPRK Has Been Subjected To Us Military Intimidation, Provocations, Threats And Extensive Sanctions To Politically Isolate And Destroy The DPRK Economy.

Dr Dermot Hudson his speech demolished false reports about the DPRK and Ukraine saying that “It is also necessary to comment on the wild stories being floated in the mainstream media about the troops of the Korean People’s Army of the DPRK being in the Ukraine . Neither Russia or the DPRK has officially confirmed the despatch of KPA soldiers to the Ukraine . Indeed DPRK vice-foreign minister Kim Jong Gyu on the 25th of October described it as a “rumour”
Dr Hudson also denounced the visit of the new British Foreign Secretary Lammy to south Korea and the hostile policy of the British government towards People’s Korea. Dr Hudson explained that the British authorities are joining hands with the US imperialists and south Korean puppets to overthrow the socialist system of the DPRK and also detailed the threats to the DPRK from US imperialism and the ROK puppet regime.
Dr Hudson recalled his visit to the DPRK in April of this year saying that “ Despite the sanctions imposed by the US and its lackeys on the UN Security Council and the COVID 19 pandemic the DPRK is carrying out massive construction work ,it is going through another great Chollima upsurge( Chollima was a flying horse of legend in Korea and gave its name to the mass movement for increased productivity in the DPRK in the late 1950s) .A new street, Hwasong Street which is the size of a small city has appeared in Pyongyang.On the day of our arrival our coach to the hotel passed through and later in the visit we drove through Hwasong Street both during the day and at night . Hwasong Street looks very modern and of good quality .It would cost billions to build in a Western country but the DPRK gives homes to people free of charge”
Concluding his speech Dr Hudson said “.There were no drug addicts , prostitutes , lumpens or decadent people(in the DPRK). I was able to leave money in my hotel room and it was still there when I returned in the evening or afternoon.
As to tales of " human rights violations " , the DPRK actually has a fairly minimal police presence compared to many other countries . The police only direct traffic. The situation seemed quite normal.
That is the reality of People’s Korea , an advanced socialist society with free housing ,free health care and free education. We must redouble our efforts to defend People’s Korea with No Ifs or Buts . Really meetings like this one should be held up and down the country “.
Discussion followed with questions about travel to and visiting the DPRK , anti pandemic measures in the DPRK , life and working conditions in the DPRK.
Literature from the DPRK and about the DPRK was displayed at the meeting.
