There are very few differences between these parliamentary parties. Each tries to sell itself as a change from the other when in fact all of them serve the interests of British capitalism.

Two years ago we wrote an article about Russell Brand. At the time these allegations had come forward and his quasi-activist side was gaining some traction.
Since then he has moved away from talking about imperialism or class issues, and now seems to have found god.
Now we were probably kinder to Brand then he probably deserves, but the reasoning is still the same. The things he's accused of would have been ignored and covered up if hadn't be come an annoyance to the ruling class.

Globalisation is merely the latest phase of imperialism as it moved into a period where it became a pure, undiluted version of what Lenin described in Imperialism The Highest Stage of Capitalism. What the 1990s ushered in was the ability of the imperialists to export capital without restrictions following the counter revolution, which destroyed the socialist bloc. This was an absolute necessity for the imperialists as it enabled them to engage in a drastic increase in profits via the destruction of the domestic industrial base and replacement of it by mass importation of commodities from areas of the world which could be subject to hyper exploitation and thus the commodities could be brought back to the imperial core nations and the wage cuts imposed on the domestic working class could be mitigated via the provision of cheaper commodities. If that comes to an end, we will see a massive increase in prices in the imperialist nations and the living standards of the working class will utterly collapse. Imperialism is running out of options now and a full scale assault on the domestic working class is coming very soon as it is their only option left. Communists must stand ready to explain this situation to the masses as the situation deteriorates rapidly.

Trumps rhetoric about how the rest of the world is ripping off the USA is repulsive and clueless at the same time. US imperialism exists like a vampire, leeching off the economies of the entire world upon both their resources and their labour for many decades now. That is the essence of imperialism, it is pure parasitism that hollows out nations before moving on to suck the lifeblood from somewhere else. Trump and his gang don't even really understand this as they think of US power in very crude terms. The US ruling class do though and that is why Trump will ultimately fail but in trying to leap back in time to the 1880s he will reveal contradictions inherent in the system that will cause the massive recession that began in 2008 to return with vengeance.

....most writers have ignored fascism's close collaboration with big business. Some even argue that business was not a beneficiary but a victim of fascism. Angelo Codevilla, a Hoover Institute conservative scribe, blithely announced: "If fascism means anything, it means government ownership and control of business". Thus fascism is misrepresented as a mutant form of socialism. In fact, if fascism means anything, it means all-out government support for business and severe repression of antibusiness, pro-labour forces.

Is fascism merely a dictatorial force in the service of capitalism? That may not be all it is, but that certainly is an important part of fascism's raison d'être, the function Hitler himself kept referring to when he talked about saving the industrialists and bankers from Bolshevism. It is a subject that deserves far more attention than it has received.
