An interesting article on the EU’s military capability reveals how deeply intertwined it is with the United States. The author repeatedly stresses that the EU would struggle to operate militarily without U.S. support, yet fails to acknowledge the deeper truth: the dependency is not merely military, it is structural and economical.
The European Union itself is a creation of U.S. imperialism, designed in the aftermath of the Second World War to unify Western European capitalist states under American influence. Its purpose was twofold: to stabilise the region after centuries of conflict, and more importantly, to contain and undermine the spread of socialism from the East. Far from being a project of European sovereignty, the EU has always functioned as a mechanism for embedding U.S. interests into the very fabric of European governance, economy, and foreign policy.

The US cavalry isn’t coming: How Europe moves its armies without American assistance – POLITICO
Europe has built its war-fighting plans on speeding American reinforcements to the front lines. The prospect of that not happening is throwing military mobility plans into disarray.

Happy International Workers Day to all comrades! As imperialism continues its spiralling decay the urgent necessity of advancing the class struggle becomes more apparent. The working class in the imperial core nations must fulfill our historic task of eliminating the parasitic bourgeoisie who have robbed and terrorised the world for far too long. It is our historic duty to bring their rule to an end. On May Day we declare that our demands are that we only want the earth! Solidarity!

🟡 HAPPENING NOW: Red flags are rising in Berlin—and the state is already panicking. On the eve of International Workers' Day, hundreds filled the streets to denounce NATO militarism, the cost-of-living crisis, and the capitalist system driving both. Palestinian flags flew alongside red ones, confronting the political order.
Protesters chanted for the expropriation of capitalists—landlords included—“We will expropriate you all.” Police, mainstream media, and politicians are already framing the protests as violent threats—laying the groundwork to justify repression.

The recent victory for Reform is going to be neither the disaster hand-wringing liberals fear, nor the glorious future frustrated ex-labour voters hope for.
Stopping illegal immigration, whilst still having right-wing economic policies is not going to train more doctors or remove profiteering companies from the NHS. Nor will it build schools and train teachers.
It won't force private landlords to provide affordable housing and it won't provide jobs in our depleted industries.
Only massive changes to our economic and political systems will do such things.
Voting in different establishment politicians will change nothing.

County road area of Walton, Liverpool. The land that the council forgot. There's been settlements here for 100s of years.
It may be poor, but it's still got some semblance of community that a lot of places are truly lacking. It also has our comrade Red Rick. This is the area which he calls home.

City builder or destructive vandal? The city building tendency is exemplified by China. Vandals exemplified by the destruction of Gaza during the ongoing genocide. But can be seen in the imperialist core with the tearing down of working class housing, ripping apart communities, and replacing them with glass towers for the ultra rich to purchase as an investment, in the empty plots of land within our cities, areas where the buildings have been allowed to fall into dereliction, are torn down and nothing is built to replace them because capitalists are unable to find a profit making use for the land. Contrast communist China using rational planning, with the irrationality of profits in command in Imperialist capitalist countries. A socialist economy would be a society of city builders!
