Unions are strangely reticent to do anything meaningful to advance the Birmingham bin workers’ cause.
Very few refuse workers, besides the few directly targeted by this round of cuts, have even been balloted for action.
Meanwhile, the representatives of those currently on strike have done nothing more than call for the odd bit of performative ’solidarity’ and organise a toothless open letter signed by 25 trade union general secretaries – which was no doubt filed by Birmingham’s government-appointed commissioners directly into the bin.

And let all those who are genuinely desirous of bringing about meaningful change for the working class (ie, actual progress, not more of the same) take note: while a genocide is in motion right NOW; while new theatres of war are being opened up all over the world right NOW; while the government is right NOW enacting fascistic legislation to suppress all dissent, these jokers want to keep shouting 'hope' and 'change' while asking you to do nothing meaningful NOW but instead ... prepare for the 2029 general election.
Knowing full well that you could elect a parliament full of Karl Marxes and it wouldn't make a jot of difference to the daily business of imperialist Britain, which is run not from Parliament but from the Square Mile and associated gentlemen's clubs.

Jeremy Corbyn is a very malleable political object. This idea he was a man "who never changed his morals" is an outright lie.
Here is a list of what he backed down on;
- Dropped calls to quit NATO. He also said Labour would “work within NATO to reduce tensions” but dropped any talk of withdrawal.
- Backed keeping Trident despite opposing nukes and claiming to be a pacifist.
- Campaigned for Remain despite years of being an EU sceptic.
- Softened his anti-austerity edge to sound “responsible.”
- Capitulated on the antisemitism witch-hunt & IHRA.
- Shelved MP deselection fights.
- Parked his republicanism.
- Dropped any attacks on British imperialism.
Here is a list of what he backed down on;

This is a deliberately misleading comment by this Member of Parliament.
There is no single name used more consistently within one culture than Mohammed (in all its spellings). In Islamic tradition, naming children after the Prophet is common and deeply rooted in reverence and cultural respect. That’s why the name appears so frequently, it’s not a sign of “overtaking,” but of cultural tradition.
What this MP is doing is trying to stoke fear, parroting this popular narrative that Islam is somehow taking over Britain.
Firstly, Islam is a religion, not a race. Anyone of any background can practise it. But this rhetoric lazily (and dangerously) conflates skin colour with faith, fuelling racial division.
Secondly, according to the most recent census, 81.7% of people in Britain identify as white British or white other.
So no, this statement carries no weight. It’s smoke and mirrors.
And ironically, the second most popular name in Britain is Noah. Another religious name, but biblical.

Slovenia has become the first EU member state to ban the export, import, and transit of weapons and military equipment to and from Israel.
The decision, initiated by Prime Minister Robert Golob, comes after repeated warnings that Slovenia would act unilaterally if the EU failed to impose concrete measures against Israel by mid-July. The government emphasized its position that Slovenia consistently supports international law and the protection of human rights.
In a statement, Golob said:
Golob added that the Slovenian government will introduce further national measures against the current Israeli administration, citing serious violations of international humanitarian law.
